Watching this whole Coinye thing reminds me of the reputation markets from Accelerando. Fantastic book if you're into that kind of sci fi. The idea that you can trade based on reputation is striking. So coinye is an altcoin for the masses, but what if everyone had an altcoin? You could have entirely new marketplaces that did nothing but trade on the reputations of the people with coins.

If you believe in someone or something, or it's profitable to trade in them, you could mine their coins. You could even, potentially, assuming the practice is widespread enough, even evaluate potential employees based on how well their coins are performing in the reputation markets. I suppose you could use such markets for anything. Causes, countries, even corporations, if you really wanted to.
