I tried to post some dogecoins on ebay and I got a take down notice. They say you can't just transfer the goods electronically. If you want to sell virtual currency, then you have to actually physically ship something in addition to sending the bitcoins or litecoins or whatever.
I've heard rumours this is going to change, maybe only in UK, around feb 14th, but for the time being, I don't think you're supposed to JUST sell virtual currency, which is why you see postings for a penny (and then you get x.xx bitcoins for free with your purchase).

You're wrong. There's pictures on this forum of the warnings people have received after having their listings removed for trademark / brand violations. Linking to current listings is irrelevant. They'll be removed if/when ebay sees them or they're reported.

It is just a coincidence, yes. Coinye coins are not even allowed to be on ebay because of legal threats from Kanye and they get removed pretty swiftly.
