Hello everyone this is my first post so bear with me.

I was wondering what would be the best / most secure way to encrypt a wallet for cold storage on say a USB drive.

What kind of programs would you use to do this? And/or What kind of precautions would you take to avoid the encrpytion key being stolen from the computer if it is connected to the internet either during or after encrpytion of the wallet.

A step by step guide or links to guide/s on this would be really helpful.

Also as a final question would the bitcoin-qt client be acceptable for this storage or would there be other more suited clients at handling cold storage. (I am not looking to spend any of the coins I put in cold storage I just want it to be as secure as possible so that I don't have to worry about it for a while)

edit: I found a nice guide here https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/howto-create-a-100-secure-wallet-17240 . However any feedback would still be appreciated Smiley, or maybe just say hello if your a newbie
