Dice rolling might be exploitable in a casino (3 - 8 bits of entropy) but not in the context of a 128-256 bit entropy (or even 64 bits - eg 4-6 word diceware passphrase).
With Coldcard you can keep rolling if you're worried about the fairness of the dice, use different dice each time you roll and it'll keep generating new seed.

There is nothing that beat the warm fuzzy feeling; sitting with your tinfoil hat under a blanket generating a private key based on a 99 digit base6 number with a calibrated dice... only quantum based number can have higher entropy  Cheesy

cheers

Completely agree. I love my tinfoil hat and the feeling watching how dice rolls turn into seeds/passphrases Cheesy
Not many people share my enthusiasm though, they trust various HRNGs and TRNGs not knowing that the true entropy lies in their own hands Wink

Great products you are selling.

Thanks Smiley

Question:
The dies you are selling, are they fair or just a toy?

They're not casino dice but it doesn't matter because we don't use them in casinos or for playing.

Here's a quick review of Chessex d20 dice (bear in mind they're not the same as d6).

The dice can be used for 2 things in the context of Bitcoin:

  • Generating entropy for the seed (eg. using Coldcard Wallet)
  • Generating a passphrase using a diceware list

I'm not too worried about the fairness of the dice in the context of Bitcoin.

Great products you are selling.

Its a nice branch of the cryptosteel concept.
This is one level more permanent because they letters are actually stamped into the plate.
I already have a cryptosteel, but I will consider ordering this one as well, not for collection, but for use.

About price... if you are storing thousands of dollars worth of BTC (which potentially could be worth millions one day) on a hardware wallet, there is really not any good argument not to pay those 100 USD more and have an extra level of protection (imo).
