If you have any in Australia I can assist. Used to provide small collecting service a while back for people ripped off in group buys on forums I was on (nothing to do with BTC )

Yes, one - claims to be in Brisbane, but might also have a Melbourne base.  I have some info, and 100 coins at stake.  Happy to share half of any recovery - pm me if interested.

Would a "Wall of Shame/Praise" and OTC-style ratings (http://bitcoin-otc.com/viewratings.php)  website across the BTC lending world be a good idea?
At least two are scammers (dunno about bcj), not honest defaulters, so no, not really. DI even claims the "DI" who was on this forum committed identity theft.

I see, okay so how about something like Zopa (https://uk.zopa.com/lending/great-returns) where your identity is verified, you're assigned a score and then lenders and share the risk by splitting the amount they invest amongst multiple borrowers.

Anyway I'm in the London area so let me know if I can help 200BTC is quite an amount...

Going after people not repaying their debt will be a deterrent for others to it as well.

This is not lame, and in isolation unlikely to be profitable, but I support the effort wholeheartedly (I will not be assisting with collecting). Note that a lower amount of scams will also bring down the average interest rate to a more healthy level.

Room for a new business model. I like to see economies develop Smiley

Lame. Burt, you're wasting your time with this.

If your lending model requires such actions, then you're doing it wrong imo.
You are almost always (w)right.

Not asking for that kind of help.  I am looking for someone to do some detective work.  Possibly meet the guy.  Then we will look at legal options.  Your suggestion would come into play much later in the process Wink

I am an active BTC lender over in the lending forum, see https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/--61756

I and some of the other lenders are looking for help with collection of bad BTC debts.  The debts are usually pretty small so we are looking for an someone who just wants to try to help on some of these to see what happens.  You should live near the borrower.  IBM (my BTC lending service) is currently sitting on three bad debts but there are many more where these came from - bad debts owned by the other lenders as well:

Code:
Date      Who           Loan  Payback  Due Date  Loan Address   		     Notes
--------  ------------  ----  -------  --------  ----------------------------------  -
01/25/12  gurg2.o       20    21.00    02/03/12  15D2uoPut7QbHUKDUtLSXXJfzWvzDvnni8  Lives in Laguna Niguel, California with his parent(s)
01/29/12  doubleicaras  25    28.75    03/06/12  1F6MCoBMwmfpT5fruvCUjirFEybhLe5c1C  Lives in the UK
03/28/12  bcjunkie      15    15.00+   04/02/12  14g8TeohrrTEbsdDAY3EAdiXdzRNZR3Qc3  Lives in Bowling Green, Kentucky, have copy of his DL

Anyone interested in trying to help out?

NOTE that the total doubleicaras (UK) debt is a lot larger, this is just the part owed to IBM.
