How about a simple "User review" subforum? Each user can create their own thread with their own name and all of the feedback can be in one place.

This is easier than collecting a series of links to show people feedback when they ask for references.

Hey that's a good idea

It would sure help me out.

Could be useful. It would have to be very limited or it would easily go out of control.

Offering my "smear-your-competitor" service at 50% of normal cost. Get your competitor tagged up in "Scammer" comments for the Xmas Season!

Someone make a note of this in his profile.

It won't get spammed we can just have captcha, every area in the forum has potential to get spammed anyway.
If bad comments come up that aren't true and have no evidence mods can remove it and the poster can be punished.

I have no intention of spamming. I am offering a "reputation destruction" service if the above idea gets implemented. Free hand of the market and all that.

As one of the most ignored users of this forum I can tell you another use for this: Personal attacks and smear campaigns against individuals.

Maybe require a minimum number of posts/user level before you can comment.

Yeah I really think it would be a useful indication of someones trustworthiness at least better than looking at someones post count. Like for my self I only have like 40 posts but I've probably done more transactions than some people here with 500 posts.
Also I don't think it's that hard to implement.

Not to mention this opens up a whole new dimension for spammers
That holds true for every place that lets anyone post.

Not to mention this opens up a whole new dimension for spammers, but I believe that it could be a very useful tool, especially for alerting users to those who may be scammers.

That kind of thing would be a great idea as long as there is a reliable ignore system in place, there's nothing worse than getting tons of stupid trolling if you're just trying to talk normally with people on a forum.

I think it would be a good idea if you can post comments in a user profile. That way when trades are done comments can be left on a profile sort of like feedback on ebay. This will make it easier for users to determine who can be trusted.
