I think this is a nice idea... but how are you going to assure advertisers that they are going to get views for their ads?

Adcoin was a cute idea I came up with.
In everyone's miner config file, they can put a 64 character alphanumeric string. The winner of each previous block's string goes on the bottom of everyone's client.
Additionally, people can "bid" on having their ad featured for 24 hours. in a different ad space in the client. It would be a special transaction that includes the ad as a transaction message and is basically just a large transaction fee. at the end of each 24 hour retarget, the person who bid the most since the previous retarget gets their string featured on the client as well. (bids don't get refunded if outbid.) this provides a sort of alternative for bonus blocks.
I suggest 2-5 minute block times so ads get rotated at a healthy but non-rapid pace.

if the ad could be integrated into an ad network that displays on multiple sites that would be sweet, this idea is awesome but i dont think people will stare at their wallets while mining. Ads could connect to sites through a "block chain explorer" that pulls the ad out of each current block and relays it to an ad network....
im have such a huge pile of work in front of me already... but id be willing to help with this project....
This could be kept completely decentralized if each site on the add network used the "block explorer add finder" built into their site, instead of having one main block explorer for the adds to be sent out from.
id assume coins from the mining would be a good medium to trade for additional advertising in places.

Add to it the lottery idea where by jumble the 64 character code and at random let the network pick one and send an accumulation of fees or ad revenue to that address ?
It would be like a crypto lottery , the demand of which would drive the interest and thus add value thus driving more interest .
