Sorry maybe you didn't realized but the same situation already happen to the thousands of users...
When they came the rules was different they reached Jr member rank and after few weeks/months they have been dumped to Newbies.
The problem is that most of them were spamming.

I get that there are higher ranks that spammed before, the question is are they still doing it now? they can be easily moderated by the mods if they decide to spam again and we have DT member who can tag them if the mods can't monitor them. From how I see it more merit abuse will occur if all ranks had an increase in merit requirement.

I'm fully aware that main issue of "1 merit revolution" was to fight against the spammers...
OK but what about merit system introducing itself? Was it only against the spammers or maybe due to rise the level of discussion on the whole forum as well?

As theymos said:
...
I'm hoping that this system will increase post quality by:
 - Forcing people to post high-quality stuff in order to rank up. If you just post garbage, you will never get even 1 merit point, and you will therefore never be able to put links in your signature, etc.
 - Highlighting good posts with the "Merited by" line.
...

ICO's and bounties didn't show up on this form after the merit introdution but much earlier, so the shitposts and spam. So why we sould treat shitposters who started their activity in september 2017 and became Full Member before merits introduction or these who started in October and get Member rank in different way? Why they are better than people who started in January this year? They aren't at all. I do understand that stats show that number of account rised drastically this year and probably introducing 1 merit for Jr Member looks most effective. Agree. But why not to be fair for all users?

Everyone says that "...only spammers and shitposters will suffer from 1 merit change..." and "...it is not so hard to get one merit...If you are not a shitposter you will get at least one for sure...". I fully agree so let's be fair, let's treat every user in the same way.

You also said "...more merit abuse will occur if all ranks had an increase in merit requirement...", should it stop us from doing this? Why? If Member/Full Member/Senior Member ect. abuses he should be punished just as Newbie or Jr. Member - the rules are the same for every user and that's it!
I think that shitposters/spammers with higher rank aren't better than Newbies or Jr Members! ... rather worse!

As I understand it, this buddy proposed to lower the rank of the old-timers of the forum have no merit. Like me. He says that if we have no merit, we are not worthy of our rank.
Yeah he wants everything to be equal but we can't have nice things here because we have these types of people who ruin the forum by farming thousands of accounts to spam and abuse the merit system.

YES, I came to this forum before him and the old rules could get your account, but it does not mean that I can be lowered, for lack of merit. DELIRIUM.

Do you think it was wrong or good?
I think majority of people here agreed that it was good change. What if theymos rise full member rank requirements to 101 merits would you also define it as DELIRIUM?

I like the way of thinking of OP. Giving the free number of merits according to the rank while implementing the merit system was the only reasonable solution, but after few months maybe a year why not to check if all oldtimers deserves their ranks.
I'm not talking about taking away all merits they were given it wouldn't be fair... maybe they contributed really a lot in previous years..

In my opinion the best idea could be just to rise merit level for all ranks... Even not to much... let's say 10% it would be enough to see how many "high ranked" users didn't contribute just have their rank for being here longer...

None of what you're writing makes any sense.  I don't even understand what you're proposing here, but I would suggest that all of these suggestions being made by low-ranked members fall on deaf ears and blind eyes.

If you're making an argument, you have to state it coherently and concisely.  You've done neither here, so you can pretty much expect for it to get ignored.

I do not see the logic in what the author sets out in this thread. YES, I came to this forum before him and the old rules could get your account, but it does not mean that I can be lowered, for lack of merit. DELIRIUM.

I think this topic is a discussion of beginners and senior members, because all newcomers will support my idea and seek justice in the updates of the forum. And experienced participants as expected are against the deprivation of the titles of the participants earned achievements until now.
I foresaw it and I think it is quite logical. But d hope me all??? will support experienced participants because as I already said all who earned their high rankings only number of messages in most cases not deserving this.
Open the history of their messages and there you will see a solid spam.

The introduction of this kind of innovation could not pass unnoticed, as expected there will be a lot of disputes dissatisfied and satisfied with the decision to lower the ranks of Junior participants.
I also support the idea Theymos and the proposal of the author of the post. Look at some participants and their stuff they too as well as all couldn't receive in 9 months of any merit - it isn't strange? If they are experienced members of the forum in my opinion for them to get 1 credit for easy...

Due to the new forum rules introduced by Theymos to extend the restrictions and requirements for beginners, I have a further suggestion to optimize the forum and its users.
Since the forum was a huge number of newcomers namely members of Jr. and with it a huge amount of spam and garbage messages, it was decided to reduce the rank of the participants of the "Junior members" to beginners due to the fact that they have not fulfilled the requirements to earn at least one merit, that is, all who did not receive until January 24, the status of a member and have not received since that time, none of the achievements were again novices.
I support this measure, and for that matter, why not continue on this topic. If your forum members was in 2017 and used to get your rank above the rank of associate member has not received no merit - must remain in their ranks but newcomers not?

Offer participants with "round" among the merits of ie 10,100,250... also lowering their ranks to newcomers if they since the introduction of the system of merit or no merit (from 24 January 2018.). You think it's cruel, I'm not based on the logic applied to beginners. After all, the other participants also received their titles only because it stayed longer on the forums and generally posts solid spam and trash.
As for making parties deprived of their title 1 point merit they will return to their prinee the title of hero member to senior member

I totally agree on your thoughts! To be fair enough to the jr members who got demoted. Higher rank must at least get a certain qty of merit to maintain their position otherwise they must get demoted also. Hopefully theymos would bump this post of yours.

Jrmembers demoted due to "excessive garbage-posting."
This decision made after several months so if the same type of "garbage-posting" occurs, the higher ranks will be demoted and the ranking system will be wholly amended.

Generally, this is different for those high ranks where its value is higher than the risk as well as the difficulty of reaching it.

Not necessary. Newbie shitposters often make another account after being banned. (Not allowed) But a ranked member has a lot more to lose if they get banned.

The forum does not have much of a problem with higher ranks because they tend to produce less shit, and even if those that do are not really a problem because they are few. The problem is mostly about the many juniors created only to participate in campaigns. 100 junior in signatures are producing an average of 1500 post a week and there is no way of keeping a good moderation. Anyone can could create them out of the blue and start messing up the forum.

If the admins do detect a problem with members or above, they would act in consequence.
