I'm using the Android wallet from Schildbach, and yep, the fees are predetermined right before I hit the send button. It gave me those numbers, so I think it is okay to do just that. However upon checking the number of unconfirmed transactions, I see that I'm not the only one ranting about this thing. 66500+ tx being unconfirmed and almost 40mb already on the mempool. This happened also in the last year, but with a more aggressive volume of 139k unconfirmed tx.

So I see that it's in the network, not really in the fees. I've made another tx being set in very high priority and I'll check whether it will confirm in the next hours or not.

edit: after a year of using the said wallet, I can't seem to edit the tx fee on it, so I just hit send after putting in the right amount. It determines the tx fee everytime you create a tx or send coins.

I have a questions also does the confirmation of transactions affected by the increasing bitcoin value? We're already in 675 USD.

No. It's possible that the increased value will also increase the number of transactions indirectly, but there's no way to know if it's really because of that or not. I mean, we've had transaction spikes without any specific reasons.

This is really frustrating my transactions are also more than 24hrs already, and I guess all we need to do is to wait until the miner process the transactions and solves each blocks. And its more than 66,000 the unconfirmed transactions.

Yesterday, I forwarded a few coins into a service I regularly use. I usually pay the same fee, and it kicks in without a hitch, most of the time it only takes an hour to confirm but this time, it has taken almost 24 hours and still no confirmation. I've had this problem before, but that was on the past year when stress testing on the network was happening.

Aside from the fee I've inputted in there (which usually does the job whenever I send some coins), what are the other factors that helps it to be not confirmed in the chain? Are there any methods to double spend it or reverse the said tx?

The fees are low. It's 22 satoshi per byte and the recommended is 110 per byte. If you ask me I'd say you're very lucky if you've sent a tx with that kind of fees lately and always get a confirmation in a hour. So I have to ask, are you sure you're not mistaking 0.00005BTC for 0.0005BTC?

Tx fees required to get fast confirmation changes all the time according to the number of unconfirmed transactions currently waiting in the mempool, and the size of your transaction.

your service not monitor the fees inside the blocks ... so you don't pay the right fees.

it's normal.
it's a network.

that's why bitcoin core and android wallet don't have this problem ... the fees are properly set before the emission.
