The first address is my wallet on multibit  1ESES2xzP9jXEexFEphRDqKVQcEyxapUR7

this is showing a balance and I have reset the blockchain and transactions but still showing

the other address I don't have in multibit but set it up from blockchain so login there to view the balance and theres a balance in there

Unless you have additional addresses in MultiBit that do have a balance, your MultiBit wallet is mistaken or you are misunderstanding what you are looking at in MultiBit.  Address 1ESES2xzP9jXEexFEphRDqKVQcEyxapUR7 no longer has any bitcoins associated with it.

I have 2 wallet addresses that are different I think,

I went to transfer the balance from one to the other, its transferred but didn't transfer for some reason

The balances in both accounts are exactly the same, are they linked together then?

Wallet I transferred from  1ESES2xzP9jXEexFEphRDqKVQcEyxapUR7

Wallet transferred to 16oJhUXoFtoYXseWpG1V88yJzQME5SDbVF

please can someone shed some light on this

Those aren't wallets.  Those are bitcoin addresses.  A wallet can have one or more bitcoin addresses.

What wallet program where you using to send the bitcoins?

  • Armory
  • Bitcoin-Qt
  • Electrum
  • MultiBit
  • blockchain.info/wallet
  • BitcoinWallet (on android)
  • Mycellium
  • Some web service such as CoinBase, BitStamp, BTC-e, etc (not actually a wallet)
  • Something else I haven't thought to list here

What wallet program were you using to receive the bitcoins (see list above)?

What's probably happening is you're confusing addresses and wallets.

A wallet is a collection of addresses, purely client-sided (I.E. nobody else knows that address A is also in the same wallet as address B), most wallet software adds all unspent inputs in all the addresses in the wallet to get the grand total, meaning if you sent from one address in the wallet to another address in the wallet, the wallet balance wouldn't change.

Can I confirm this isn't happening?

Not linked and if you just check on your own at blockchain.
First address has ballance 0 btc.
And second address ballance has some btc on it.

Perhaps your app did not refreshed it.

Transactions are confirmed and everything looks ok @ blockchain.

Backup private keys.
Reset blockchain.
Import private keys.
