Hi,

I got below personal message, link in the message is not working. Is it a spam?

And is it mentioned sent to @Yamifoud? I never sent any message to anyone. Please guide.

Let me just quote the OP for reference and better overview.
This is interesting case, for those who said that he replied to someone here is how it look when you reply :

On the other hand, I just checked my history of messages and got some more examples so what I can conclude is that the message was sent to multiple recipients and Yamifoud happen to be the first one.

Your account should be fine, you just received a spam message over PM.
Anyways, for future reference you can bookmark this page > https://bitcointalk.org/myips.php
It will show you recent IPs used to access your account. Take a look and see if there are any unknown IPs there, unless you use a VPN or TOR. In that case all of them would be unfamiliar.

The reason why the newbie PM's are red flagged when you receive it is because "newbie" accounts are often used to scam people. It only takes a few minutes to create a new newbie account on this forum, so when someone misuse that account and the mods remove or block that account, the user does not lose months or years of posts, so they rather use a newbie account for these spam attacks.  Angry

Also be careful, even if these unsolicited PM's are coming from a higher ranked member, because some scammers are clever and they buy higher ranking members accounts to legitimize their scams.   Roll Eyes

Seems like scam to me. If they are really legit, then why don't the come out and make a decent ANN abut their exchange.

It's also an unsolicited PM and there for you can report it to the Moderator as spam. I believe the sole purpose of the person behind this is to spam people with messages about their shady exchange so if more people report him/her. It's just a matter of time before they get banned with their copper account.

Actually, I am forgetting about personal message options when I am newbie. But, maybe you can check your personal message setting. It will be found under Profile > Personal Message Options > uncheck "Allow newbies to send you PMs." And optional choice for you,  you can add that username to ignore list too on text box form.

I suggest to report that message to moderators. PM spam is just freaking annoying and users like this one deserved to get ban.
I don't know why they think that's good idea to promote service in such way. Because I'm definitely not going to use service which spam my email or PM's without my consent.

That is possible spam advertisement for sure or that website is fake or maybe a phishing website. There's a lot of people now creating newbie accounts just to spam messages via PM just to advertise their products/services/websites. Once again, be CAREFUL.

Interesting that the guys from AllStocks might have a few more users, all copper memberships.
The one with which they've sent the PMs has zero posts, none deleted so it was probably (and still is) created only to send PMs, bypassing the limits and not risking the main account if it gets banned for them.
In total, they might have 5 accounts, 3 copper membership, only one with post activity.

Of course, one should stay away from that website and report the message.!

Looks like someone who sent you that message trying to get some benefits/earnings from inviting users to that website. I think there is nothing really bad happened. Anyway such pms are breaking forum rules as its looks like SPAM.

The English is not very professional. If it was a decent service, it would be able to afford better marketing imho.

as for the "sent to @Yamifoud" tag it may have shown because you replied the person.
No, I did not. Is my account hacked did someone do that?
I think that's why you saw Yamifoud is because the user who sent you that personal message is also added Yamifoud as one of the recipients since when you want to send a personal message here in the forum, you can send it to multiple accounts/people. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Your account doesn't seem to be hacked. You only received a private message. Anyone from this forum can send that (and I think that you can choose to receive or not messages from newbies).

If you don't know the sender, the best is to just ignore/delete it.

The message is from a Newbie on the forum that's why there is a red indicator as for the "sent to @Yamifoud" tag it may have shown because you replied the person. I won't advice you to click on the link because it me be a phishing site or a scam page.
