Human is a pretty interesting creature. We spend a lot of money on various projects, but we cannot bring order to our planet.

their success will be the greatest human achievement of the last few centuries.  returning to earth would be very difficult and complicated.  hope I die on earth and with my family around.

Most of us will.  Smiley  Elon will only pick the best to move before the Martians declare independence and rely on natural/aided reproduction.  And they have the higher ground when it comes to kinetic energy, so we would lose any war with them.  :/
our ancestor on earth was Adam while those on Mars (soon) was Elon "lol"

We will still have the advantage in hand-to-hand combat, so I guess the infantry will play a key role in conquering Mars.

Love the moviesSmiley

I kind of liked the first one, but they messed with the sequels. Very bad CGI.
Good books, though.

I thought, why should we make life on Mars when we can easily build a large spaceship (like an American aircraft carrier) for human habitation.

Mars is just an arid planet with little chance for humans to survive.  sorry not a scientist Cheesy
Aircraft is not enough for the humanity to live or transfer from Earth in case this Planet becomes totally useless in future.

People Need another planet to land and start a new life and this is what motivates NASA to find and build.

Congrats Human Race for a Job well done.

Or we could just make this planet better..
No matter where we live if it would also be filled with same people I think it wouldn't really matter much it would just be the same result the planet or the aircraft would just be destroyed.
I think you already know that making this planet better is also one of the impossible thing to do as long as there are so many people who are destroying it.
But I don't want to ruin the mood here we should just celebrate the huge step of success for humanity.

A huge applause for everyone that worked tirelessly to make this a success. I imagine they must have ran years of simulation and trials. This new feat has paved a new era for another form of knowledge and discovery.

Aircraft carriers are not spaceships.   Plus, the future generations of those "humans" will look and move different than us, and won't be able to return to earth.

That's why I see humans in the future who volunteer to Mars seem to be on a suicide mission.  the thing that I worry about them experiencing is the structure of their body or organs in their bodies that change (btw I fictional movie maniac of the future lol).

8 billion people need how many aircraft carriers? and energy source? And still, they need to face issues with climate conditions.

Just the first step towards Mars but it is not a place for human to survive which is going to be the big task need to be tackled.

Sure, they are looking for a way to probably go to settle on mars since, planet earth is filled with corona virus!
However, congratulation  to such effort

AI just performed a flawless landing on Mars.  Distance made it impossible to do this manually.
