You need to short the pins as described earlier. Or if you can see the code 43 error in the device manager, you need to use the 7 GPU mod by lbr.

I have a MSi P67A-GD65 mother board and 5 GTX 1070 GPU's. I'm able to attach and mine with 4 mother board but when I try to use all 5 I have problems. I have looked all over the internet and tried numerous things to solve the problem like:

- Plugging them in one by one
- Using PCI risers on all 5 cards
- Upgrading from windows 7 to 10
- Un-installing then re installing the driver

I just can't seem to get all 5 GPUs to work. Is it possible the mother board can't use 5 GPU's even though it has 2x 16x and 3x express PCi slots?

If anyone has any tips or ideas to get all 5 gpu's running I would be very grateful.

"I just can't seem to get all 5 GPUs to work" can you see the 5th VGA card in the Device manager ?

Because you did not tired this method yet , i would say , You likely need to short the PCI-E presence pins. It's all motherboard dependant ....  you need to short pins A1 and B17 .
Also make sure you are disabling everything in the bios what you are not using on the motherboard , have a latest bios, have powered risers.
5xGTX1070 will pull max 5x150w = 800Watts at the wall during mining process , without fine tune , + your motheroard/cpu/mem/fans maybe another 100Watts , so your system max total will be around 900Watts. Make sure your PSU can handle that . With some basic tune you can get the 1070 power draw down to around 100 watts ...

Upgrade from Windows to KopiemTu:
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/kopiemtu-30-ethash-equihash-nvidia-usb-linux-distro-520998

make flash usb (16GB), boot, and check:

Code:
root@kopiemtu:~# lspci | grep VGA
01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: NVIDIA Corporation Device 1b81 (rev a1)
02:00.0 VGA compatible controller: NVIDIA Corporation Device 1b81 (rev a1)
03:00.0 VGA compatible controller: NVIDIA Corporation Device 1b81 (rev a1)
04:00.0 VGA compatible controller: NVIDIA Corporation Device 1b81 (rev a1)
05:00.0 VGA compatible controller: NVIDIA Corporation Device 1b81 (rev a1)
root@kopiemtu:~#

If you will see 5x 1070 cards - you have problem with Windows (so don't use it Smiley )
If you will see 4x 1070 cards - go into a BIOS and play with it
