Is your MyNode setup with Tor?

When you are entering the MyNode Server IP into Electrum, which IP address are you using? Is it a "local" one (likely starts with 192.x.x.x) or the "external" IP address (should be what you see when you goto https://whatismyipaddress.com/ ) or is it an "hfjkdhsfjkahskfjhsakf.onion" type address?

If your MyNode (and the Electrum server) are using Tor, it might be causing the connectivity issue if your Electrum client is not also setup to use Tor (and/or you don't have a Tor client service setup properly).

You can't connect your node to Electrum by just using IP of your node without ElectrumX or Electrs if I where you setup ElextrumX or Electrs you can follow the guide here below
-snip-
He's using "myNode" (introduction) which has a built-in Electrum server which should work out of the box when enabled.
Given that Sparrow and Blue wallets work without issue (through Electrum server option), there must be something in his Electrum client that's causing the issue.

I was also able to connect my Blue Wallet connected to my node. For some reason, I can not get my desktop electrum wallet connected. I don't know what else to do than maybe uninstall the wallet and reinstall again.

Try to delete your old certificate (it may have cached), open certificates folder, delete all old certification and try again.
or connecting using port 50001.
anyway since Blue Wallet works its related to electrum config.

Edwarded: Thanks for the documentation url. My electrum server is fully synced as I have my desktop sparrow wallet successfully connected to it. I followed the steps and even tried to connect using the CLI although unsuccessfully.

nc50lc: Yes, the video I watched was about a year old. Since the overview and server tabs have been merged, I am assuming that all one needs to do is enter their electrum address in the box as well as uncheck the "select Server Automatically" button and tab away. This is when the green light goes to red.

-snip- I have watched some videos on how to connect my electrum wallet to my node and all the videos show a "Server" tab in the Network window. In my case, I only see the Overview and Proxy tabs - there is no server tab.
Those videos must have been created a year ago when the "Overview" and "Server" tabs are separate.
In the latest version, the server tab is merged with the overview tab.

It shouldn't be the cause of the issue though.

Did you try the steps given by official mynode github ?
https://mynodebtc.github.io/electrum/electrum.html
Also, check if your electrum wallet is synced fully. You should be able to find enable server tab in mynode homepage. After doing all the steps, you may restart everything and check again. Green light should appear.

I setup my MyNode a few months ago. I was able to connect my Sparrow wallet to my MyNode without any issues. I am running an electrum server on my MyNode and I set up an electrum wallet on my desktop which is currently set to "Select Server Automatically". I have watched some videos on how to connect my electrum wallet to my node and all the videos show a "Server" tab in the Network window. In my case, I only see the Overview and Proxy tabs - there is no server tab. I have tried deselecting the box to select server automatically and entering the ip address of my electrum server in the box but the little light shines bright red. It will only shine green when I select the box for select server automatically. How can I connect my electrum wallet to my node?
Thanks in advance for any help.
