It's closer to begging than to scam. Everywhere in the world people are begging for money under different stories, valid or not.
Even if OP would have the first chapter available, although it would add some credibility (if it's his work!) it doesn't guarantee he'll continue the work.
And even if he finish it, doesn't mean it'll become available for free at least to the donors.

What I find closer to scam, or at least misleading, is the fact he said thank you so far, but he didn't receive a Satoshi until now.

Seems like this might be a new tool under scammers belt. It's quite interesting how it's almost not a scam. Reminds me of the pastor that would pray for people posting in his thread, and was very keen to flash his addy too.

Not to mention the guy that was finishing a book about Ross Ulbricht, and asked for donations to finish it.

You have finished the first chapter as you have said without the needed funding, so what's keeping you not to do the next chapters though? And with the price of Bitcoin almost touching 5 digits now, I doubt that you someone will just shelter out in something that is controversial.

I am currently working on a project called The Compass Home. It is a consciousness exploration series designed to remove emotional blocks, enhance creative intelligence and intuition.
