Interesting mate,
As I understand for your thinking that godfredmanu prefer short term trading, in my opinion at least daily or weekly trading since it will be difficult in crypto to trade in scalping let say for a minute or in 5 minute interval time. For scalper, the trading stuff should be in big volume and in this crypto just possible for top one such as BTC or ETH. So the consideration for short term traders are:
1. Big volume of transaction (such as BTC and ETH), the scalper will not valid for low volume
2. IMO, Technical Analysis (TA) is really important for scalper at least stochastic RSI and with one of these: Bollinger Band, Moving Average or Ichimoku Cloud. This indicators should be added by seeing: transaction volume such as Sell wall or Buy wall.
While trocore4 opinion is mostly similar but there is important thing to list in exchange as one of thing to be considered for investors. But my understanding for traders to consider volatile market shall be a consideration for scalper since swing trader don't need short interval time to trade but at least several weeks or even in months so volatility should not be consideration for swing trader.

Lack of most exchanges embedding technical analysis into their system makes it hard to trade short term with technical analyst. As a results most are forced to adhered to long term holding or swing trading. I prefer short term trading because I can make more trades in a day than hold for several weeks to months.

I think that is the only two types really matters in the crypto space and nothing else. When a person invests his money in the ICO sales then he is automatically entitles to long term holder who needs to keep watching the project progress all the time. He has to be sure that project is keeping the timeline and as well as they are making progress on the exchanger listing steps also which is the most important one. Usually they promise that they will have ICO prices while entering the exchanger but that never happens! So invests has to wait for further analysis and se how it goes. For swing taders the path is aways short as they choose the volatile coins in the market and just seek for the good volume to come up so that they can sell high. Pretty much what you said but more or less a fact of traders!

I just see a thread to complain for T.A as it doesn't work, the OP says his indicator is using RSI. Just to say that one indicators in trading will be not enough, it needs other indicator to confirm. This indicator is usually used by traders to be considered, but how investors?
For investors, the most important thing is the project profile. If the profile has fundamentally good feasibility, investors will not to too care for up and down of the price in short term such as around 1-3 months as they are looking into return for minimum 1 year. What to be considered by investors are:
1. In the beginning is the project profile including Scam filter
2. The progress of road map achievement
3. Marketing efficiency and effectiveness
Consideration for Short Traders are TA and Fundamental analysis, usually fundamental analysis will form a heavy effect for the price then the traders should apply the position carefully and need to be as earlier as possible to receive the news whether it is pump or dump. During this fundamental, TA analysis shall be forgotten for a while until there are no news effect.
For Swing traders, this is most similar with investors but shorter time of payback period. They need to consider project profile but also to consider latest movement of the price in the chart. Swing traders usually do a transaction for around months such as between 1-6 months, what they do in that time are:
1. Waiting strong signal to enter the market
2. Waiting the time to reach their target price
For swing traders, simple indicator such as moving average will work while to see chart pattern and also the progress of project to reach road map.
