Just a quick update.. I decided not to sell, it seems Scrypt has remained highly profitable with the Doge, as long as you sell immediately (I'm not speculating on that one).

Profitability in a year is about twice what I am asking right now, but of course that will end soon I would bet. However with my cheap power, I'll be mining for a while longer.

Thank you for all the messages on this, and happy mining!

Oops, I did say 30-35 BTC a day, didn't I? Obviously, I meant 30-35 LTC a day! I just edited that...

Completely understand the people saying it is overvalued, as it is valued higher as it's a fully functional turnkey solution. Good luck putting together a similar setup anytime in the next 2-3 months though with prices and availability of equipment. Additionally, I would venture to bet most of you are paying more than 4.8 cents a kw/h, which is another benefit.

The amusing part is this is still a better deal than 99% of the ASICs out there in terms of ROI.

It'll make 200k regardless if I sell it or not, it just boils down to the difference in time invested. Thanks for all the comments!

$200K? Really? You could buy 150 off the shelf, and severely overpriced, radeon 280x's for $50K today. Maybe you should try to market the shit you're smoking.

Yeah, I know you're proud of this outfit but that's just an insane price. If you figure 150 x $300 R9 280X's that's 45k for the cards. Figure another $300 per 4 cards for the MB/CPU/PSU/HDD which is ~$11.5k. That basically leaves $140k+ for the cases, stands, networking/cooling hardware, and your time. It's a sweet setup for sure, but nobody is going to pay you a Lamborghini and change for the legwork.

Nice setup!  Why would you sell this instead of continuing to make $1000 per day?

I can imagine it could take a lot of time managing something of this size though.  I have been running a much smaller setup of only 30 GPU's for the past 18 months and still run into "goblins" in my systems regularly.

Thankfully it's winter now though and one less factor to worry about. Smiley

EDIT:  I see you're "balancing a heavy workload", so I guess it might make sense to sell it.  Hope your other workload pays as much!

90,000 kh/s can be purchased from newegg using brand new hardware for WAY LESS THEN $200,000.

If you spent time buying used hardware, you could acquire GPU cards on craiglist or ebay for around 300Kh/$100.. so you'd be paying $30,000 for 90,000Kh/s in cards.  Then you need the other parts and PSU's..

Depending on your setup, I'd be willing to bid around $60,000 USD.

Hmmm? How about a bitcoin for a day? Hehe. Just wondering. Altho if you are making 35 BTC a day, then you should keep mining.

i don't think so 30-35 BTC a day? he's lucky if he got 2 BTC a day...

Would you rent the hashpower for month, a week, or a few days? Would you be willing to set it up for another alt-coin?

I had them setup to auto switch based on profitability, although I shut it off, and just mine Litecoin for now, but no, I wouldn't rent out hashpower. I make enough money from the mining operation and I'm not looking to add complexity to the operation. The whole thing I was debating was whether it would make sense to liquidate completely at this time for me since I'm balancing a heavy workload.

Sorry I don't have Interest however I can give your thread a friendly bump so that someone who can help will have a better chance of seeing your thread. Smiley

Thanks for the bump, I was going to let it get buried, as it didn't gather any responses here. I did get some private responses, but it's a bit of a pricey thing to sell, and even more cumbersome, it has reliance of someone nearby the existing space.

I'll just keep mining, the equipment is paid for many times over, so the $900-$1000 a day that it brings in at market value of LTC is fine for now, I'll grow my cold storage until the next generation of mining Scrypt takes over in the many months to come.

I don't see either ASICs or FPGAs as a serious threat anytime soon though. And I was profitable at sub-$2 LTC and 1000 difficulty, so I'll be mining for at least a year more.

I'm thinking about selling my entire GPU mining operation as a turnkey package, if the price is right. Since I'm simply toying with the idea, I wanted to post and get a gauge interest.

Here's what would be included:

1). 90,000 kh/s mining operation, fully active and transferable once payment is received, the operation has been active for over 6 months
2). You own all equipment running in this operation:
       - ~(52) 7970s - Mostly Sapphire
       - ~(98) 7950s - Various - Sapphire and MSI Twin Frozr mostly
       - (40) complete systems with aluminum framed cases custom made to fit (2) system boards and up to 8 cards
       - Remote controlled APC Switched PDUs - Allows remote hard reset for lockups
       - All network switches, and backbone equipment
       - High end video camera unit to monitor space
3). Transfer of 1 year lease that will be up in 12/2014 - This space has .048 kw/h power, along with 400 amp - 3 phase service. Currently maxed out, but new service can be added if you want to invest in upgrade of service - Monthly cost of lease: $350 plus electrical, which given the cheap power, it runs less than $1,500 / month for power. Add $150 for insurance / internet service monthly (this is up to you, but recommended)
4). To calculate current ROI, you would use the 90,000 kh/s number, 45,000 watts, 4.8 cent kw/h, and you'll see it's making about $1000 a day, with difficulty growing fast. Currently, it takes in 32-35 LTC (edited to remove BTC typo, I wish it made 30-35 BTC a day!) per day in a pool.

Since most people would not be local to me, I would be willing to be on call, for a pre-determined fee to fix any issues on your behalf. In the Summer, adding cooling is probably going to be necessary as the operation was recently ramped up.

It wouldn't be going for a bargain price given the current cost to mimic this operation both in time, cost and availability of equipment.

Starting bids in an auction would be the BTC equivalent of $200,000 USD.

There are four cases (8 systems) missing from the attached picture, as I have them operating at my house to provide heating during winter months.
