Here is a reply for those who says its for drugs:

Bitcoin is used by charities like these:

http://spices.org.my/

Its not Bitcoin, its the internet and Tor that allows this.

Should we stop the internet? Because it can be used to buy drugs and get porn?

Do you accept Paypal or do you use cash?
Customers paid for their drugs via Western Union, PayPal, iGolder, Pecunix and cash.

And Paypal got money from Banks and VISA and Mastercard...

Keep it up!

I keep hitting the forums of the games that I play.  I also mention bitcoins in game at least once each game.  If people want to talk, I talk; otherwise I let it go.

If people say that it's associated with drugs, I usually respond with sure, so are USD and every other fiat currency.

Just continue to focus on the positives:

increased market share
lower fees
no chargebacks
etc.

If they won't do it means there's an opportunity for somebody here to make a BTC->games exchange. Clone exchangezone.com, modify for bitcoins and then anybody can sell/buy games and vouchers through escrow. idk

I opened this and a similar ticket with two of my favorite companies:

To whom it may concern,

I'd like to give you a heads-up about something relatively new you might want to look into in the area of online processing of money.

It's a new thing that was recently invented. It's kind of like a digital commodity currency people trade online called Bitcoin. The cool thing about it it isn't owned by anyone. It's an open source projects that a bunch of programmers developed completely openly for everyone to see how it works but because of it's ingenious design it's still very secure and very private to use.

Main advantages:
- much lower fees
- accessible from anywhere in the world
- no chargebacks possible
- no need to give out your ID info to be able to use it, therefor no ID theft possible
- no one can stop your transactions or prevent you from making a new one, no one can freeze your money
- protected by military grade encryption and relying on the laws of math making it practically impossible to counterfeit

Practically it behaves much like cash on the street but on the internet and it's completely legal too.

The main part: people actually use this method and value bitcoins at about $5 a pop right now.. so I really wanted to share this with you.

Today there are several online exchanges where one can buy them and it's pretty easy to get or sell some. Here are a few links if you'd like to find out more:

www.bitcoin.org - official site
en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Main_Page - official wiki page
www.weusecoins.com - independent introduction site

www.mtgox.com - independent online exchange
www.cryptoxchange.com - independent online exchange
www.intersango.com - independent online exchange

www.bitinstant.com - independent instant funds transfers
www.bit-pay.com - independent IMO leading payment processor ( probably most interesting to you )

I'm not part of the project or any of the companies I linked nor am I an expert in how it works, I'm just an enthusiast who follows it regularly. Even so I would be more than happy to help you find answers to any questions you may have.

Kind regards,

Both tickets got answered one directing me to forward the info to their official company email which I doubt got anywhere where as in the other I got told it was forwarded to the higher ups. Haven't seen the payment option adopted yet but these are pretty big companies and I doubt they'd be willing to take the perceived risk.

Tell them it is used to feed hungry children (mine for instance) and if they don't accept bitcoin you know they hate children and want them to starve. Do they want to be associated with that?

For a while now i've been regularly contacting game companies and platforms like steam and origin asking about if they are or are going to support bitcoin payments. Stating the simple reasons; i want anonymity and security for my payments, and also informing them that it's probably profitable for them because no fees or third party processors are involved. (up for discussion..)

Some have completely ignored my question, and others have replied like "no we don't , please use paypal or your credit card." (even had one reply that bitcoin is used for trading illegal drugs and they didnt want any relation with that... -.- )

I was wondering if any of you also contacted gaming related companies to ask / advertise bitcoin?
It may be a very essential starting area for bitcoin to grow big.

How do you guys write these questions or advertisements and how do they reply? Maybe i'm just doing it all wrong and that makes them turn their heads or something...
