Well, the OP made just two posts in this thread. On the surface it reminded me of an account that created a thread in order to give merits to his account farm under the guise of running a legitimate competition. I have always been highly sceptical of threads that give away merits as they more often than not have ulterior motives.

Bump, I recall back this thread lol.

It's already end, so who's the winner? there are few users who predict quite close, but I don't know how much the exact Bitcoin price on March 22, 2024, probably this site would help https://www.statmuse.com/money/ask?q=bitcoin+price+march+22%2C+2024

@OP was active several days, if he didn't give the merit to the winner, should we say @OP is a scammer? Huh

There is reasoning to avoid multiple confusions that the military use one time with offsets, Zulu time or basically similar to GMT.    Iam surprised to find the whole of India is one single time zone, thats alot of people and distance surely with all different sun rises and sets.   [Amazing the time zone is half an hour not a full hour from others, very unique Smiley]

Anyway this prediction of a few days is a time period very short term, I missed the thread but its pretty random to predict I guess so I would left it for others.  We've been mostly pinging back and forth in a range seems like; I was coming round to thinking we meet the 50 day average which is not the correct format for this contest I know but BTC is up in the air and everything seems a moving target right now.

I'm a bit puzzled by the date format—it doesn't seem familiar to me as an American. Maybe adding a countdown or specifying the hours remaining would help clarify things for everyone.

Putting that aside, I'll offer my prediction without mentioning a specific number.

Also, I'm thinking this thread might be better suited for the games section rather than here—just my two cents.

I do agree that it's a good thing that we could help people gain merits by actually doing something fun, it's a great way and I have seen much worse reason to share merit before. I believe that it will probably somewhere near 70k back again, I do not know if it will actually get there or not but I hope that it will.

A big increase back again is expected but that date is close so I may not get it that quickly, or maybe the price will go up very quickly and will not take long. I just want to share that 70k number so that if I am right then I will gain some merits, and if I am wrong then it's all fine because someone else will get merits for actually deserving to get it, I believe that's the most important part of it.

Yes, bitcoin is 5.7% up in last 24 hours and it can again reach near to 70 K soon as you predicted. Good luck.

It is very difficult to predict with absolute certainty in this contest, especially how much Bitcoin will be on a certain date.
However, on March 22, Bitcoin will stay between $65,250,000.
I'm a little bit ambivalent if my prediction is going to come close if the bitcoin market goes up.  And if it is downward then my prediction will not be correct at all.

same what I thought and I am asking why the Mod didn't close down this Merit giveaway? if it is allowed as it looks like why to give OP a neutral tag?

Such a tag will be very useful for the OP, just for inattention. He was online but didn’t bother to check what people were writing about in his created thread.
However, if you look at the history, he has some ambitions to present himself as a source of merit, as well as personally sell space for signatures, which can be seen in his reviews and inventing that his account was once hacked.
Based on all of this, I think the OP knows something we don't if he's living in the past tense and isn't going to think about reality. Grin

Yes I saw him online and not answering here. strange for me but why is he doing this Merit contest? any clue or idea?

Guys, I do not want to be a party pooper, but "Merit" points are supposed to reward people for constructive and informative posts.

So, simply encouraging people to spam the forum with price predictions are not promoting that goal.

I still think it is a good idea, but it should not be linked to "merit" points and it should be posted in the gambling section

That's exactly what I thought. Merit should be given to quality posts and not to someone who randomly guesses the price at a given moment. If you want to do it with your money, as is sometimes done in G&R that's fine, but using merits for that seems to me to be a misuse of the merit system and he's going to get a neutral tag for that as far as I'm concerned.

It would be best to follow @Oshosondy's advice as that will give it a better audience for what you are trying to achieve. Just a suggestion, won't it be better to announce the amount of merits the winner stands to get or are you planning on giving the 12 that was earlier stated by @Oshosondy?

I am not predicting for your merit but give to the younger ones and your date of prediction is over and you can't drag us back to 2022 again and even 2923. And base on the market movement and presently the price of bitcoin is rating $62,800 therefore in own calculation the market is going down and and the said date is just two days to go so I will predict that it will be $60,687. I am doing this for fun and not for merit.

Bitcoin price has been a prediction for a long time and it happens in the speculation board and also in the games and round so this is not a new prediction for fun.
You shouldn't bring unusual attention to yourself, bro. You can just drop your predictions or better yet, do not and stop sounding as if a couple of merits is beneath you. First of, there's a typo of dates but if you check, you'd realize the guy is trying to use March which we are in but typed February but you went and read wrong by assuming he's referring to 2022. Which means you are the one trying to drag us back Grin.

Bitcoin price is quite shaky now and most people will be tempted to predict it going further downwards but I'd say we'd  could be surprised and see something a bit higher so I'm going to leave my predictions at $64,940 by Friday.

Although this contest is confusing especially in terms of timing and also there is no time limit for the predictions, I will respect it and I will predict it.
Currently the price of Bitcoin is experiencing a correction which I think is not easy to predict, and my prediction for March 22, 2024 is: $62,257.10

It is already below the $61k price point and by the 22nd it should reach $59k. Then there can be a bounce back but it was on the card as it did pump very fast. Price correction was supposed to happen and the price always takes a dip before halving. This would have been the first time a small bull run happened before the halving, all because of the ETF. The demand for Bitcoin is not as much as it was earlier when ETFs were approved and there is news that the demand will gradually go down.

As a reply on this thread, you have to post the exact possible price for bitcoin on 22-2-24 , 8 pm Indian time.

I think it’s quite obvious that you meant 22nd of march and not february as it has been already stated in the title anyway

this is a bit tricky because I am not from India and miscalculations are inevitable when you aren’t that familiar with the actual timezone. Definitely an advantage from those with the same timezones as India.

First, clarify when is the last submission? I could post my prediction on March 22, 2024 and wait until 7.59 PM Indian time.

This is another factor to consider mate  Grin
It’s all fun and games anyway so my bet would be $62,320

Goodluck to everyone and hope op could clarify a lot of things regarding this thread!

Why not move this thread to speculation? This does not belong to bitcoin discussion because we only want to speculate on bitcoin price and nothing more than that.

I can see that you have 12 merits.

As a reply on this thread, you have to post the exact possible price for bitcoin on 22-2-24 , 8 pm Indian time.
Why not use this forum time? It is better and not confusing. It is the time that exchanges are also using which is UTC.

Same thoughts here. I’m literally wondering what time it is in India and even if everyone knew, there could be mistakes and misunderstandings. Adding to that, the date too is not correct. I hope he makes these changes.

Just for fun (you can keep your merit Smiley, my guess is $67,314.12  Grin

This was a great contest but I believed this wasn't the right section for it, I think this one is on Games and rounds since it is a game.

My Prediction is March 22, 2024, $64,758.

Expecting for the market to recover a little bit since the drop, to be honest, I dont think Bitcoin could continue to increase its market until the Bitcoin halving, I think a lot of investors are going to sell because of its hype just like what happened in the past halving, most of the time the market price drop a lot, because there is a huge pump before the halving and I think that is the hype of Halving already.

I usually don't know what to do with short term price predictions. It's always far more difficult to guess where Bitcoin would be within the next 24 hours than withing 6 months to a year.

I'll take the date in the topic title, cause it is the only one that can apply and predict a Bitcoin price of $63,456.

Great initiative bro even if you have less number of merits, I am flattered to see how much courage you must have or gathered to make this thread while knowing you have fewer merits. Well, maybe for you the merits are not less at least even one merit will be considered as a merit. So my prediction for that day is $64,398. Because currently market is under great pressure and I doubt if BTC is going to $70k target anytime soon. Maybe it won't until halving.

But I am still confused by how big whales like Microstrategy are buying BTC, as according to the last news they bought a lump sum of BTC at the estimated price tag of $67k which means they must be in loss too. And I just got the news that around $624 million dollars of long trades have been liquidated due to the current market pressure. So overall, I don't think the market is going to cross $65k.

I'm with the others in total confusion about the date.  It seems like that's some weird made up format and not something I recognize, but I am American so who knows...  Maybe some sort of countdown or mention how many hours until the end date/time would be helpful and appreciated.

Now that all that has been said.  I'm going to go with a prediction of $63,269.

I also don't think this is the appropriate section for this thread.  Seems more like it belongs in the games section.

I am not a good speculator but I am going to try. My prediction is $67k - $68k.

OP wanted an exact number, so you shouldn't tell it with a $1k margin of error. The way this works you post a  number like 67500 and the person who gets the closest to the real price wins.

Here's mine: 69300, although we're 50:50 between a fast recovery and continuation of the uptrend and longer consolidation on the 60k level fort a few weeks. It all depends on how much GBTC decides to dump next week. Nothing - fast recovery. The way they're dumping now - possibly sub 62k price and a few weeks of waiting.

Hahaha...I like this and I love contest challenges. But you did not construct it well. You cannot do a context without defining your rules, and some terms and conditions of participating in it. I've always browsed through, there was no reward plan for the winners, not to say what would be concluded when two or more persons had the same value and won the contest. The actual platform to use must also be known since prices vary per platform.

Lastly, have you seen the date you posted? The 22-2-24 has passed, maybe you wanted to write 22-3-24, notwithstanding, correct it to make it fitting.

you are right main, OP is experienced enough to have known that setting up a contest without any rules will lead to some confusion, and there is already an error on the date as others have also acknowledged the error. It seems that OP created this thread out of a hurry without even looking at a few contest topics that have been created in the past, so he could at least have a clue on how a real contest thread is supposed to look.

Also, there is no specification for the number of merits to be awarded, and there is no segregation for either the first, second, or third winner, etc. The thread is not just well organized, which is why I would advise the OP to edit this thread.
