No, that isn't contradiction, OP. It doesn't falsify the fact that it is still an alternative currency. It is just that people use it differently from their own reasons. Nothing too bad about that. I do believe that Bitcoin being an alternative currency is Satoshi's vision from it, but it doesn't mean that it can't be used for its value. People would take advantage of that and that ain't a bad thing, OP.  You still buy with your fiat cash anyway with it in the end.

Basically, you can even start the cryptocurrency adoption with yourself and your circle of friends. Whenever in case you need to transfer money or pay your friends, recommend that it is easier to transfer using cryptocurrency wallet. Fast, secure and reliable, and your time would be even efficient. In that case, you are doing your duty as a cryptocurrency supporter even in the simplest manner. It would be great if everyone of us is doing this kind of action in order for the users of cryptocurrency to exponentially grow.

It sounds very simple in theory but very hard to do.
I would like to do that too before but could not do it, if I am insisting on doing that. I will face my local law and I will be in jail because of it,
adopting cryptocurrency in our real life is not possible for some people. Because of restriction from the law and knowledge about cryptocurrency in masses.
remember, cryptocurrency has not been regulated yet.

We all want cryptocurrencies to gain value. But we do not use them as a currency in our daily lives. I think this is a big contradiction.

no it is not, it is your mistake for making wrong assumptions.
"we" all want to make more money from trading altcoins in short term that is why nobody has ever used altcoins outside of trading on exchanges. and that is also why nobody has been creating any coins for actual usage for many years now. we basically have bitcoin as a currency and some projects in early years which are not at the bottom of the lists. the rest are pump and dumps.

Local exchanges in my country often hold seminars on cryptocurrency and technology blockchain. This seminar was conducted so that people in my country who still lay about cryptocurrency get to know more deeply and can learn more about cryptocurrency and its technology. and also so that they don't always view cryptocurrency from the negative side only. I also participated in this seminar several times and also invited some of my friends to join with me to the seminar so that they were interested in cryptocurrency

Lol nice post, actually where i am from no one is willing to collect crypto as means of payment unless i use it to buy things online and ship them to my country, if there are better ways to spend crypto i won't hesitate, i am impressed about how china are paying and receiving payment through wepay and the other, it shows that china loves digital currencies and they won't stop using them

I preach Cryptocurrency and I trade it, I have conducted an introductory lectures on it on several platforms for free even though I may not have a tangible evidence at the moment to show that Cryptocurrency works and the need to embrace it.

This I think is not a contradiction but I think its a dilemma as its worth pointing out that even if you have a huge amount of crypto but doesn't know a shop in your own locale who accepts it, then its worthless as a buying medium. I think merchant adoption must coexist with an increasing number of end users to balance the equation on crypto adoption! If only I could find a local convenience store in our place that accepts cryptocurrencies then I would gladly use it to buy goods, etc.

Here are some prerequisites which I think must occur first before a mass adoption scenario of cryptocurrencies could take place. Some of them are listed below as follows:

1. People needs to be more acquainted about cryptocurrencies.
2. They should have the means to acquire it either doing work or offering services.
3. Merchants must embrace cryptocurrencies and accept them as a means of payment.
4. Governments and other institutions supports the use of cryptocurrencies.

Maybe to use it as daily life not only something that can make cryptocurrencies popular, if it is only as investment as long we spread positive things to other people maybe will be very good already. Because to use as daily life, there are some problem from government regulation. If  we can't use it or maybe prohibited to use it in our country, we can have problem with law.

Well, one of the ways to help spread awareness is by posting about it here on the forum, off course, I'm not encouraging spamming topics about crypto, but instead share your own information regarding a personal experience or something. Maybe you can spread the awareness to social media by blogging or making a video, again I'm not encouraging spam or bias, by share your experience with others. You could also share ot with friends or family by educating them about the many uses of crypto.
 Just my two cents!

I do not see where we have contradiction here because not all cryptocoin are to be used in our daily life, the crypto dev are in the right position to determine the usage of their coin holders can only do the promotions based on the platform created by the coin developer.
Some coin are for marketplace, video streaming, trading exchange etc.

Once there is place where we can use, this community will definitely evaluate it. Why should we skip it if the environment is appropriate?

The issue should not be about the popularity of crypto, the majority are already aware of the crypto, but they are afraid to use the money they are not accustomed. To overcome this fear they must have confidence in this system. There should be lectures at the level of governments. But firstly governments must overcome this fear.

In my local community I engage youths as they are more liable to understand the advantages of blockchain technology. Educating and informing people is just as important as using it as a medium of exchange.  Before people can exchange their fiat for cryprocurrency,  they need to have at the very least, a basic understanding of what it is.  For most it is some sort of HYIP.

You are right but it is not that simple, due to many factors like many countries have implemented taxes and fee on crypto transactions while some countries are preparing tax rules for crypto while majority of countries still not recognize crypto as currency so the trade or transaction of crypto is rendered illegal in all such countries and only a handful of countries are completely supporting crypto and have not even implemented any taxes. I think mass compliance will take time and slowly but surely the world will definitely move toward crypto because it is time to get rid of paper (fiat) for payments.

You can't make someone who is investing in crypto to earn more cash to do that, and there are more investors than people who use it for what it is meant to be. You probably won't change their minds but you can promote crypto to new people as something which they can use to buy things.

Some cryptocurrencies, such as bitcoin and ethereum are already in use. At least, if I do not know of any other place, in my own locality it is in use in some stores.
Although, we need the world in entirety to accept it and adopt it for daily usage.

I don't think it as a contradiction, It depends on people on how they will use their cryptocurrency, They can sure used it for an everyday transaction, Or they can be used as an asset a means to behold for future benefits, And even though you are treating it as an asset we can sure introduce it to our family and friends and even a random person in need.

We can say that cryptocurrency is very unique than with a regular fiat currency, we can not lump them with each other, decentralized currency means to be volatile so it is good for trading than to use as a tool for a transaction, Even though we can sure use cryptocurrency as a payment method it will really depend to that person in what will he do with it.

This is so true, we all want crypto price increments but we don't use it in real life. Personally I have been using ETH to subscribe my data via COSS app for sometime now. If any service allows me to pay with crypto, I gladly do so. But I don't blame it entirely on crypto enthusiasts, government authorities place serious restrictions to crypto use hence people don't want to go against the law. With time (probably when regulations come) adoption will creep in I believe, we just have to be patient.

I've done my part but the people that I've talked too didn't have much attention to give. They are good in asking questions but they were lack of application from those answers that I've given to them.

They have asked me before because they've seen bitcoin at all time high and they were hyped into it, you can explain and give answer if they ask but I don't encourage them to invest without researching. They have to understand the risk because many will not use it as a daily currency but more of an asset and investment.

We do use it just like fiat most of the time. We buy and sell online its not however like how the Japanese do where they buy services and food in some grocery stores with BTC. As much as I want to do it in my country there ain't a lot of stores accepting BTC in my country but with regulations, businesses will start trusting BTC and will accept it as payments and that's when we can see adoption. Before this will happen though, the government is acting already to collect taxes from it and sometimes it gets complicated.

One of those ways is to introduce the project signature, which is also the work that you and I are doing. signature campaign and a number of other campaigns are very important, in the marketing process, bounty hunters need to take the task seriously to deliver the best possible posts.
that will help people who want to read your article and from there see the signature of the project, they will visit it. I'm really quite happy to be a part of projects that are already and are about to succeed, which is why I always try to create good posts every day.

We all want cryptocurrencies to gain value. But we do not use them as a currency in our daily lives.

The thing is, there is almost no option to use cryptocurrency in our daily lives.  Yes, some of them are used in paying bills because of the third party applications, but the thing is, those service providers do not accept Bitcoin or cryptocurrency directly.  We cannot use it to buy stuff in the supermarket, so how can we use cryptocurrency in our daily lives?  The sad truth is Cryptocurrency development is not yet on the stage where it can be implemented in every corner of the world.

What do you do to make cryptocurrencies more popular?

Using it on every possible opportunity I can such as paying bills, buying mobile loads, buying game credits etc.  Sharing information about it to friends. Larger means of advertisement should be left to the developers and project owners themeselves since they have the money and most of the benefits if their cryptocurrency succeed.

But is it a contradiction? It all depends on how you view crypto.

Do you expect BTC to be used as a currency or store of value? If the former, sure, spend it. But you may end up paying the equivalent to 50K for that TV set a year or two for now. And that's why most don't use it as a currency. But as a store of value, sure, it works. It may not deserve the hype or valuation as a store of value as it does, but that is a purpose... it's not like most go to their local store and pay for items using gold or diamonds.

As for other cryptos, one way for them to gain value is serving a purpose other than as a daily currency. BAT token for instance, or coins that work with businesses to create internal blockchains, or reward programs. Or that whole smart contract thing, which is still trying to find a purpose outside of crypto kitties...

Crypto can still work as a currency, but I think it'll only catch on either in 3rd world countries where hyperinflation has destroyed their own fiat currency or if a stablecoin catches on. Most folks don't want to buy something using a currency that can double or triple in value a week later.

Some people use it daily. In my city, there are some restaurants which accept bitcoin as a payment. I was considering to try but didn't get the chance. I tell people about crypto currencies. The speed and the low fee of it are taking attention of people. We just need more adoption of altcoins or new improvements for bitcoin because daily transactions are not much possible for bitcoin due to its high fee and low speed.
