kraken treat with gbp too, you could deposit there your btc(six confirmations are needed) then convert those to gbp and then withdraws to your bank account with a sepa(8 hours are needed to proceed it)

Yeah I get that, but you cannot control other people.
They may not be thinking and just do it quickly and say bitcoin by accident.

(not saying it will happen, but it could happen)

It could. but I have never known it to happy and also... unless its a HUGE amount, bank wouldnt touch it anyway. Just claim ignorance and say you didnt know.

I have received money through BTC-E before also, took a few days but came through.

I only use it when I need to transfer some Bitcoins.

All UK Sellers will put a different ref to "bitcoins" as they dont want their account closed either. Just find someone with high trust rating, 500+ trustworthy trades.

Good point on the market place here! Thanks Whitehouse!

Also forgot about Coinbase, will give them a try...
Do you know if they do UK withdrawals?

Well I imagine so. Wouldn't be a very good exchange if they didn't allow you to make withdrawals. Have you checked on localbitcoins too?

Good news for you is that Coinbase has opened up a UK-based site: http://www.theguardian.com/technology/2015/apr/29/bitcoin-coinbase-launches-in-uk

Coinbase, the American firm which has been called “the AOL of Bitcoin”, is to launch its services in the UK for the first time.

From Wednesday, British customers will be able to load up the company’s bitcoin wallets with pound sterling in addition to US dollars. Coinbase will also let financial traders speculate on the the price of bitcoin against pounds and euros on its exchange.

IF you didn't want to use them you could always just try on the Currency Exchange on the marketplace here. I'm sure there are plenty of people in the UK that will buy your coins for UK bank transfer.

The revolution will be monetized!
I found this:

There are two ways to buy bitcoin via Circle: by linking your bank account or by using a credit or debit card. Bank accounts in the UK can't be linked for now, but debit and credit cards are working. You will get a warning that the UK isn't supported but ignore it and you can add your details.

I thought I read elsewhere that they will eventually have both options in the UK.

Isnt Circle USD based?

I have an account there and it can display my balance in GBP but it uses USD to add funds and so on.
So if I did withdraw it would be to USD then bank convert to GBP.

Im trying to skip that last step as banks charge a lot more for it.

Hey guys.

As the subject says.
What is the best way to get my BTC converted to GBP and then sent to my UK Bank account?

Thanks in advance.
Doesn't Circle accep International customers ? If they do , then I am sure they would allow you to withdraw your balance directly to your UK based bank account.
