Actually a lot of tutorials out there about this. Make sure you have a CEX account that can exchange ADA to USDT, such as Binance, Coinbase Pro, or Kraken. You can choose the one that best suits your needs in terms of cost, user experience and supported trading pairs. Find the ADA/USDT trading pair and sell it. So it's up to you which exchange you wants.

I guess it would be the same way you got cardano in the first place? Can't get it from anywhere other than an exchange, unless a kind person gives you some P2P. Can't get it from your local bank so just use the same exchange and process you used before

Please advise best way (tutorial) how to swap Cardano into Tether.
what is the most advantageous way to arrange the swap,
rates?
thanks for the help

As others in this thread have already mentioned, there are many different ways to trade your Cardano for USDT. You can use a decentralized exchange that is running on the Cardano chain but i don't know how big the liquidity is for such a trading pair on the Dexes. Also you would get Cardano USDT then and you probably would like to have those USDT on the Ethereum or BSC chain i would assume.
Therefore i would say that the easiest and safest way to get those USDT would be to send your Cardano to a CEX like Binance, Kucoin, Kraken or whatever and then simply trade it for USDT there. Maybe you have to register and do a KYC first if you have not used Cexes before, but that takes not that long.

I don't know if you can use this method to convert Tether to USDT, but it's not
recommended. You can use a coinbase wallet, which is a good alternative.
What are you trying to say here? The "wallet" is not supposed to exchange between cryptocurrencies without the need for a third party, and therefore you do the transfer using the interface of that wallet and third party (CEXs or DEXs) works in the background.

So coinbase wallet can not convert cardano (ADA) into Tether (USD T) but coinbase exchange can.

Fixedfloat.com has that support for both coins that you're wanting to swap. So, ADA > USDT and there are three other networks that it supports for Tether.
  • USDT ERC20
  • USDT TRC20
  • USDT SOL

Yeah, Cardano is mainly run in BSC chain while USDT is mainly run in ETH chain.
AFAIK, Cardano is blockchain not a token, and they have coin which is ADA, thus, they cannot work on another blockchain, if they exist in another blockchain, they are useless wrapped token[1] run on BSC.

USDT is token thus, it can be founded in several blockchains, most in TRON, although some prefer it on polygon due to the cheap fees.
It is rarely found in ETH blockchain.

If you fine with KYC, I can suggest to use Kraken since this exchange offer very low fee and the exchange is reputable enough [1] I don't think they will scam, even though this exchange have few accusations in the past.

I do not think that the word "swap*" is correct
There are two good options if you don't want to verify your KYC which are OKX[1] and kucoin[2].
Yeah, Cardano is mainly run in BSC chain while USDT is mainly run in ETH chain.

Keep note @OP, you shouldn't expect the exchange will never ask your KYC especially if you trade with huge amount of money.

I do not think that the word "swap*" is correct, and therefore you need to either use CEXs where you will deposit cardano (ADA) and then decide to withdraw Tether (USD T) on TRON, ETH, plogon or any blockchain, or DEXs, but with higher fees and the same amount of centralization.

And you can click on the link in my signature to search for multiple options.
