If you just want to sit on the sidelines while still keeping your "money" on Bitmex, what about just opening a short position on half your bitcoin held on the exchange. That'll hedge any volitility while you wait, minus short fees.

Hi,
Anyone on here use Bitmex, is it possible to convert bitcoin to USD or USDT within Bitmex. If so how do you do it? and if not whats the best way (cheapest way) to pull it out and convert it to USD, keeping in mind I will eventually pull it back out and put back in Bitmex?

Cheers

BitMEX doesn't accept any currencies at all besides BTC. You can only deposit and withdraw bitcoins, which are then used to buy and sell contracts for difference. Profits and losses are all denominated in bitcoins.

If you want to hold USD on an exchange, you need to transfer BTC out of BitMEX to an exchange like Bitfinex or Kraken. You can then sell for USD. You can also use those exchanges to withdraw USDT, but again, you can't send it to BitMEX. Hope this helps.
