I now have 9x 5 R9 asus card rigs running 33,000MH/s

I have been busy with a few other projects so my rigs are just on a multipool.. so roughly about £100 a day, but then electric and rent have to come out of that.
next week I will be spending abit of time on them, catching a few coins launch's switching to scrypt-jane etc..

Considering that most of us will most likely have to be beefing up our A/C this summer.  Would you (or others who recently had additional A/C installed) consider sharing how much you paid for the ductless split?  Did you install the unit yourself or did you have an HVAC firm install it?  If you paid someone to install it, how much did you pay to have the unit installed?

The whole problem for you is moving the air out, your air conditioner might cool the air but it's not going to matter if the hot air exhaust from each card just sits there, your air system might move that air out too slowly. Stale air. Get a good commercial exhaust fan.

It looks like your cards are too close together, i have double the space between mine and i run them in 30celsius weather outside with 26 mh/s of equipment in a small room, with just a 380mm commercial exhaust fan bringing in air from outside

Regarding additional cooling: I have a mixture of 12 R9 280x from MSI, Sapphire (in using some Toxic) and Gigabyte.

The single best thing I did to lower the temps of the GPUs, as well as stopping the PSU fans from screaming, was to under volt every single 280x to 1.131V (1131mv).  This not only dropped 180w off of each rig's power, but also made the room much cooler by not powering roughly another 800w that was reduced by under volting everything.

Since you have 25 cards, that would be a savings of roughly 1500w of heat at the least (not to mention power savings).

PM if you'd like help under volting the rigs as fast as possible.  I know I was a bit frustrated at how long it took me to get a USB Dos boot stick going.  I went a different route than most in making a does stick with enough room to copy ROMs to.

I tried 1100mv and some cards were ok; but, most were not though.

All of my 280x are clocked at 1100mhz core and 1500mhz memory across all brands at this 1131mv (i dont like to frack with settings per GPU).  Running LTCRabbit, i get exacrly 730 khash/s from GPU as well, under volted like this.

Sure, some can push higher like the Toxics, but in the end the instability and SICK cards just wasnt worth the effort.  So the entite farm runs at 730 khash/s, except the Sapphire 280x Dual-X - they only do 720 for some reason.

Which motherboard are you using which allows 5x R9 280X's?  I thought 4x was the maximum?

Finally managed to add an industrial extractor fan, this made a massive difference and has bought our temperatures under control.

Can even feel the aircon working now

You actually need a vent. A powerful vent that sucks in all the exhaust heat.

And i would suggest laying the rig on the ground and shifting the AC lower. This is because, cold air always sink to the bottom of the room (since its heavier) and hot air rises up. So if you had a vent on top, it would make all the hot air escape.

At the moment the air goes something like:

Ambient - A/C (cooler) - Through rigs (hotter) - back to ambient.

This means that the ambient temperature continues to rise.  How about ducting the air from the A/C, to the rigs and then out of the window.

I have thought about getting a second aircon unit, however unsure of that will help matters much...
I can also bring in cool air, however trying to get the solution right now so we dont panic in summer

Nice! you got a mini-split. So what now? If you are not getting enough cooling then I guess you miscalculated the required BTUs for cooling. Get another mini-split? Any chance of bringing in outside air? I'm in Canada so that is all I do in the winter. I don't know if that is even an option for you looking at the layout. Anyhow, good luck.

I currently have 5x 5 Card (Asus R9 280X) Mining Rigs Running & have parts to build another 5.
However Temps are creeping up and I'm trying to put something in now that will also work in the summer... so sucking in cold air is not going to cut it.

I had a 7.5kw Aircon unit installed, I have 18" Typhoon fans behind each rig.
The cards are running between 78-80c currently.

Trying to think of ways currently to optimize the layout of the rigs or what we need to do to improve the cooling...

1. Move the aircon to one end of the room, with fans sucking the air from the aircon, through the rigs and have an exhaust fan at the other end of the room to exhaust the hot air.
2. Keep the aircon where it is & change the layout / design of the rigs...
3. Add another aircon unit, however with it this adds more initial and running costs.
4. Other?

Any help would be much appreciated! (Litecoins or Doge's on offer to someone that can come up with a viable solution that doesn't cost me an arm and a leg!)
