You have to make the payment, wait for confirmations on chain for completing the purchase, and wear a Copper Membership - that is you have to do manually. It does not automatically assign to your account after the payment.

There is no much benefit for the copper membership aside from the fact that you will be allowed to post image which ordinarily as a newbies you shouldn’t and the number of pm you can send at once’s (maximum) will also increase compare to newbie rank.
