Yeah it's pretty interesting the thorium stuff. If I remember rightly that's the one that melts the valve if it goes unstable/too hot and the thorium is safely stored in a bunker.

🤣 We can't all be as popular as Welsh it seems, what a flex!

Thanks Welsh. I'd like to help to expand the international discussions in Bitcoin Talk if I can. I'm particularly interested in the changes that are happening in some countries, and how they may affect Bitcoin in the future. One example is the decision by India to start building Thorium reactors  to generate low cost, safe electricity, and the government acceptance of Bitcoin mining. This could cause a shift in the location of mining farms, which would be good for decentralisation.

Users normally come to you if they would like to translate the thread on their local board. I've had quite a few requests, and still get the odd one now, and then despite most of the threads, and posts being posted a while ago. I think as long as you state you're cool with others translating the content then its fine. Otherwise, users should seek approval from the thread owner, and those users of the post they wish to translate.

If you wish to translate it yourself, and post in on a local board then seeking help from prominent users in that section would likely be a good idea.

If getting the topic out to International members is the main priority, you could try out the African bitcointalk community hangout
It comprises the entire African community on bitcointalk, and although it's not a local board and there is no unique local language (I think this is one of the reasons there is no local board), it can, however, garner some international interest while still using the original language.

https://bit.ly/387FXHi lightning theory
You could try (if you wanted to) to make an exampler thread on the Phillipines or Indian board. I'm guessing that since the boards are active and have English speakers, some of those members will stay predomenantly in there and not come out of it, so it might be a good way to access them.

On with the translation portioin, for Latin based languages (germanic&romance&indonesian) you may be able to get away with google translate and getting someone on that local board who's active just to check it over and host a topic for it (I certainly don't think it would require raw translation but a good point to start from would be giving people help in order to translate the work and deciding which posts are popular/worthy enough to be put onto the new thread).

It looks as if my first [D-8] debate thread is gaining some interest, and I have been wondering how to rake the topic onto some local boards to help out International members. I own the domain D-8 net, and I planned to use that to support the project. I've just had an idea of a way to extend the project.

If an English language thread is popular enough, then a member of a local board could take some of the posts from that thread, and start a translated thread on his local board. This would then open the topic to non-English speaking members. It would need to be carefully monitored and reported to avoid any accusations of plagiarism of course. This is why I suggest that a link to the translated thread should be listed on the debate network. This will simplify the work of the moderators.

What do you guys think of the idea, and how do you think it could be implemented if it is viable.
