Hi @ all
I saw the headline and I hope it's not only discussion about coindesk  Smiley
I'm looking for an experienced dev or a team who's able to set up a new coin and a user framework
with integrated wallet and interface for different apps (win&android). It's not only a new coin, it's a package of new usability and distribution.
I'm working on a cost listing and I need prices for the different parts.
We already raised some capital and now I've to proof if it's enough for the first steps.
We don't need everything written new but approved functionality. We have some brand new ideas for marketing and distribution
but none of us is a dev with coinexperience. We have graphic designer, web designer, accredited advertising agency and a softwaredeveloper (delphi).
And we have a huge bag of innovative concepts. The project is a little bigger than only making a new coin.
If someone here has contacts or knows someone who could help us pls send pm or mail.

Um not even close to 10k Unless you want everything 100% freshly written.

But there are cms's which you could have people do the same thing for a 1/2 to 1/3 or the price which most the structure is built already as long as you have a good developer or team they can make it work the way you want it.

The company i work for does this all the time, its easier for clients who don't want to pay 8k-40k on a new cms.

All coindesk really is:
Just a blog cms that's been edited.

Dedicated Server - $30 monthly
Domain - $10 yearly
SSL - $20ish? yearly, matters

then the rest is all free, use open source software:
-  OpenVz, Nginx, MySQL, Wordpress and then a few WP plugins.

you should be all set afterwards Tongue

You can also write for us, we offer 100% revenue sharing.

I suspect a decent SSL would be around $80 yearly, dedicated server would be cheaper, check out digital ocean and linodes....if you got a better option...throw em at me, i would love to take a look at em

I agree, if you explore your options, you wont pay too much for a website. But some1 going in blind could pay thousands of $, or at least 2 BTC  Grin

I am wondering how much it would cost to make a website such as coindesk.... From just a technical aspect, not including hiring journalists, investigations, etc.

Looks like coindesk.com uses Wordpress with a couple of plugins like Yoast, UberMenu (which are all free). It really wouldn't be that much. It's hard to give an accurate quote because of stuff like the price index and API but a maximum of $10,000 I reckon. A similar website could definitely be made for a lot less, potentially for free if you used a free WP theme etc.
