Basically it costs you the costs for power per KWh. Therefore you have to know how much Watts your miner takes. You can measure it with certain tools and calculate your daily power costs easily.

Beside the power costs you have one time costs for your hardware which might vary from 1.5k $-2k $ and up per miner.

How much you earn from any coin mining depends on lots of variables and may vary a lot.

I'm interested in determining how much it costs to mine altcoins but I don't know too much about it. If anyone would like to share what they know about the subject that would be great. I understand there are many variables that affect the cost of mining alts, and there is no good way to get an exact answer for any given coin, but I'd like to determine a probable range. Maybe if you want to approach the problem for a specific alt, you could use an example. Specifically I am interested in determining how much it costs to mine Cryptonite at the moment, but I would like develop a general method for determining cost for any coin. Information about what type of miners people use, or resources that provide that sort of information would be useful to me.
