and about rx 480 nitro of 225w ?

Since they are much lower wattage probably, I had two 7950 which run around 200w each and 2 7970 which are ~250 w

RX 480 uses ~150w x6 = 900w

The same as what I was running before.
225 x 6 = 1350 so no.

Yes I know, but the video cards I use only need 1 pci-ex cable !!
I just want to know if the source will hold out.

For 6 gpu's you're going to want at least 6 6pin pci-e connectors.

Ideally for versatility and efficiency you'll want 12 6pin or even better 6+2pin pci-e connectors. Because some of the higher power draw video cards require 2 pci-e wires.

1 pci-e per card, you only need 6 pci-e connectors. If the PSU you have found has that feature then you will be okay.

Worst case you can run a server PSU secondary to supply the extra pci-e power.

"1 PCI-e per card" What? Yeah, there are some that require only 1 PCI-e but that's a minority of the GPU's on the market.
Yeah and those usually​will carry premiums or not be overclocked like most of the third party cards.

But this cougar can support 6 units of sapphire rx 480 4gb?


I have owned about 4 of a similar cougar 1200w psu, good for 4 7000 series, I did have one catch fire on the modular cables though. Support was okay I have rmad 2 of them, so it's kind of iffy.

bronze power rating is going to lose more power than a gold or a platinum

so when you look at a device and it says 5% power loss, a bronze device might say 10% power loss.

That's a 10% higher electric bill...go with gold or platinum or titatium rated PSU's

you'll thank me in the long run.
