Hi Evoorhees
Nice post this one An insider's opinion on the crazy Bitcoin market
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.1773089I have some questions assuming that you and other insiders want this Bitcoin to succeed as a libertarian / freedom (from central bank) experiment
My questions :
1. How will a common man / woman use it IF the only ways to buy is are (a) be a geek with huge processing power or (b) be able to shell out something like approx $200 per bit coin at such an early stage of the game ....meaning when bread and butter aren't available for bit coin
2. If this
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/howto-create-a-100-secure-wallet-17240 is the level of technical competence needed to open a bank account ... ok call it wallet on your machine, how will the non geek 90+% of population every get to use it ... ?
3. If this
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/lesson-to-learn-from-alt-coins-disruption-to-bitcoin-170172 is the level of hardware and software dependence for *in*-dependance, i.e. monetary independance, I am NOT sure what to say ? has the world gone real crazy or what ?
4. Do the non tech / sane ones here believe that Bit coins will really become mainstream ? in 3 years ? 5 years ? 10 ... ? 15 years ? if so how does it cross the technical divide ? or the "not-so-competent" expected to leap-frog into competence or ?
5. IF not , i.e. IF bitcoin will fail, what's next ? or who's the next candidate ? ok if you tell me it's too early to release that publically, at least have you insiders / seniors .... have you started thinking ?
6. yes if Bitpay and MtGox are shut down , something else may start in 3 ~ 6 months. But where ? in which country ? hopefully in some other large "market" country .. right ? Say Germany, Say UK, Say Malaysia .... , Say ______(any large market country) and what's the guarantee that the government there will NOT shut down MtGox equivalent ?
actually there are far more questions than answers
