I don't think any government like the idea of currency that they do not print themselves (or in the case of the US, one they do not endorse).

Probably not, I doubt the guy even truly cares about Bitcoin. It doesn't really affect him, so it doesn't really matter to him.

Him attacking Bitcoin was a way to attack Facebooks Libra, who he hates very much. We may get some more people in the blockchain/crypto space due to Trump talking about it though, as he does have a very large audience.

Or it could be the reverse. That they got Facebook to float the idea of Libra, which many would not like, and then get bitcoin into that discussion about regulation.
