Oh, forgot to mention that that smarmy bastard that is Piers Morgan got away completely unscathed from this whole ordeal and I'm sure he was involved as much as the rest of them. He really needs bringing down a peg or two because he thinks he's invincible/untouchable.

The American media is heading in that tabloid "gotcha" journalism direction as well. Of course our government also collects our secrets so the NSA could put out a really good tabloid rag.

They're all guilty and it looks like Coulson just took the blame for the lot of them especially Rebekah Brooks. The lot of them owe each other favours and operate on you scratch my back and I'll scratch yours. The puppet-master that is Murdoch probably has every single one of them in his pocket regardless. He's untouchable and sadly he knows it.

I must use this opportunity to post a link to Nick Davis's excellent piece of writing on this subject.

Anyone who still thinks that the UK is a democracy is living in cloud cuckoo land.

What really gets my goat is that Coulson and Brooks had no compunction in "exposing" the private sexual lives of countless people in gory detail (particularly those of a left wing leaning) - and yet the two of them (who were both married to others at the time) were free to fuck each other in the office to their hearts content. The hypocrisy is staggering.

Coulson was instrumental in crucifying Tommy Sheridan (a good man in my book - and for those of you that don't know him, he's a prominent  Scottish socialist) - largely because Tommy was fond of women. In addition to his wife, that is. Now if you ask me, that is an issue for Tommy Sheridan, Mrs Sheridan and the women he was banging. Not me, not you, not no-one else.

To say that I despise the Coulsons/Brooks/Murdochs of this world - and the way that their insidious, bullying, self righteous and phoney crusade has undermined the very moral fabric of British society  - is an understatement.

Boys will be boys and girls will be girls - but to my mind there is no place in a decent democratic and civilised society for powerful media moguls to be making money off the back of the suffering of others.

That they also wield political power is a national disgrace.

Not that surprise even if it is true.

Leave no FUD unchallenged
Little surprised I couldn't find a topic on this already, but yeah, kind of big news.  British Prime Minister, David Cameron's Director of Communications, Andy Coulson has been found guilty of conspiracy to hack phones while working for one of Rupert Murdoch's loathsome gutter rags.

Unfortunate coincidence?  Crazy conspiracy theory?  Or blatant corruption at the heart of the UK government?  What does everyone make of it?
