With the advancement in technology, wireless Internet connection should be very much possible through satellite transmission and we've seen Elon musk starlink building on such structure and although the undersea cables is still the backbone of the world's internet structure, wireless Internet connection is the only long lasting solution to the frequent break in internet connectivity.
I agree with you say e go make sense to find way make we  get local area network when go de strictly for our region such that issues about breakage in undersea cables no go de happen as frequent as we de witness am at this point and one of the issue I de fear for be say if we get serious crisis with people when de outside and when de manage our servers, wetin go happen to us if them decide to shut down our server? That one go mean say our whole region no go get access to the Internet and if na times of war, it means them fit make all the plans against us and we no go even know wetin de go on.

I know say cost na one of the issues when go worry for the starlink of a think but our level of technological knowledge never reach stage when we fit get our own servers? I no de too like am say at one point or the other, we still de depend entirely on outsiders for most of our core issues and anyway they decide to punish us, we suffer big time for it. China knows say issues fiy come up when go fit make the USA cut them off a major part of the social media space and na why them de ensure say them get there own technology when go be say na them de control am in a way when de void of external regulation and as a nation na this kind area we suppose take seriously. Even if e go mean say we go sponsor some smart and brilliant youth to go learn how to do this things e no go be bad idea. All this money when our sanitors de collect as allowance here and there, if them invest that money into stuff like this e no go be bad idea at all.

I read recently that Elon Musk's internet service company, Starlink, has slashed the price of its hardware by 45% in Nigeria. It sold around ₦800000 in this April but now sold at ₦440000. The subscription cost ₦38000 per month for unlimited internet connection.

Let us see if the price will reduces further and which can encourage more people to buy. Also it will be good for those in areas that internet service through the water cables are poor. Also it will be good for those that have family and want them all to be using it. Aside that, I still prefer to use water cable networks. It will be good for those that use it for business, especially to provide Wi-Fi for people.

4.5 terabyte annually is ₦450000 for MTN, Airtel, and maybe others. That is ₦37500 monthly
Unlimited for Starlink is ₦38000 monthly
But some people do not need up to unlimited and which we reduce cost.

I do not think I will be able to finish using 2.5 terabyte annually.
I can send 5 gigabyte to anyone on MTN daily. Even if the person is another state in Nigeria
With Starlink, you can only use it where the Starlink router and Starlink satellite dish is.

This is quite interesting. This topic reminds me of the time i sat and ask myself, imaging a world where no one can access the internet in every form. A world where you cant connect to anyone. I know so many person wont believe such thing can happen, but i have come to understand that it is possible. Only the wireless connection like the star link you mentioned will still remain because the owner Elon Musk has seen what may happen in the future based on idea and find solution to it before time.

Since we all know the solution is having these connections in space, do you think that these network services have the available resources to have a satellite in space instead of passing cables through underground waters? 

There might be little problems sha in this solutions.

1. I know it would be a permanent solution OP butet us dont forget that it is expensive to have something like that even if the whole african regions that these networks covers join forces.

2. It is difficult to maintain. Going to space to carry out maintenance on the satellites incase of faults or poor performances.

3. Having a satellite in space will require lots of collaboration and permission from Nasdaq and other air regulation bodies.

It's no strange that we've been having series of network issues recently and one of the major causes of the outage has been that there had been some breakage in the physical cables that are used in transmitting Internet across the globe and the truth remains that all our service providers which include MTN, Aitel and glo are still very much connected physically.

The summery on how this internet connection works is that the internet connects computers and devices across the globe through a system of networks. Your device sends a request to the hosting server through the network infrastructure which includes router, your ISPs and other networking device. these component help route the request to the server and the response back to your device. Now this might seems very much wireless but over a long distance, they are actually sent through physical fiber optic cables
 
. So what happens is that when the cables are damaged like what happens few weeks ago, when you send a request to acces a Network whose sever are located in the USA for instance, your request will have issues traveling through the destination cause the cable routes are bad.

So here is how the chain of transmission works;
1. Undersea cables
2. Mast Towers
3.routers/wifi
4. Phones/PCs   


1.   Undersea cables : the point where data travel long distance from the server through the undersea cables that connects different continent
2. Mast Towers : once the data reaches the landing point, it then gets transmitted to local mass towers through fiber optic cables ( this is the reason why you see the recent l planting of underground cables in major cities across the nation). So the mast tower recieves the data signal and then transmit them wirelessly to the surrounding area via radio signal which can only cover certain areas ( this explains why it's more deficult to have access to networks in most villages and rural areas)

3. Routers/ wifi:    the data signal from mast Towers are received by routers/ WiFi, which then distribute the signal to different devices within thier range.
4. Phones/PCs  : finally the data packets are received by devices such smart phones which process the information and display it to the user.

So in summery, data packet travel through undersea cables then unto mast Towers, routers and then finally reach our phones and other devices enabling communication and connectivity.
