We should probably stop saying something is fake just by looking from its domain creation date. Another lesson learned: don't trust, verify the finding.

Posted website covid19responsefund.org is now not working.
Just sayin.  Tongue

Topic is Locked.

I am not sure this is fake.

See https://unfoundation.org/what-we-do/issues/global-health/covid-19-response-fund-faq/  which links to the website listed in the OP. The whois for UNFOUNDATION.ORG shows it was registered in 1998.

edit:
This is definitely not fake. There is a tweet from a verified twitter account for the UN foundation that directs people to covid19responsefund.org

You are definitely right. On the world Health Organization page https://www.who.int/emergencies/diseases/novel-coronavirus-2019/donate there is a direct link to this site https://covid19responsefund.org/ to collect Donat for the fight against coronavirus. And I am pleased to see that we are meeting not only scammers who want to make money from this infection, but also those who want to fight the coronavirus.
I think that the OP should close this thread.

Exactly, not just websites, the influx of phishing emails with malware attachments camouflaging behind the Covid-19 pandemics.

Quote
While the threat of Coronavirus grabs the attention of the world, our latest Global Threat Index for January 2020 shows cyber-criminals are also exploiting interest in the global epidemic to spread malicious activity, with several spam campaigns relating to the outbreak of the virus.

The most prominent Coronavirus-themed campaign targeted Japan, distributing Emotet – the leading malware type for the 4th month running – in malicious email attachments feigning to be sent by a Japanese disability welfare service provider. The emails appear to be reporting where the infection is spreading in several Japanese cities, encouraging the victim to open the document which, if opened, attempts to download Emotet on their computer.

https://blog.checkpoint.com/2020/02/13/january-2020s-most-wanted-malware-coronavirus-themed-spam-spreads-malicious-emotet-malware/

So everyone should be careful not just the virus itself, but cyber criminals around taking advantage of the panic and pandemic globally.

Really!
This is the last thing I wanted to see. Shame for some of these people. They have no ethics and always find a way to take advantage.

Good find.
