It's not the same for every coin. You'll be getting different hashrates on different coins. Not sure how that is calculated.
Monero is GPU-mineable, so it's probably not good to mine with CPU.

I think this is the only place on the internet where we get advice like 'don't do this, its bad for your hardware' whereas everyone is promoting some shitcoin that would lose them more money anyway.

or even worse: promoting gambling sites! Cheesy you actually find many places on web giving bad advices, and many of them full of experts with huge egos.  Tongue

try to understand and give what people need. if he's willing to try even for little money, not spending anything, electroneum fits better.

Yes you can mine with your CPU or phone but its not worth it. Just find out what the various speeds are with various CPU and go to
https://whattomine.com/

And see what your profits will be. Most likely it will be negative for everything if you pay for power. If you got free power then you will probably make a few pennies a month.

Not worth if even if you hate your Samsung phones. Mining right now is very saturated and even the people with cheap power, barely make anything.

Just because you can, does not mean you should. Especially with a phone. OP could easily end up bricking their Phone and then come back here and blame you.

no, you will never do it. you will only damage your hardware and spend more energy than you earn. We don't need much math to understand that a phone is not an asic.

But... you still can try electroneum or pi coin, they are not real mining, you just need to have the apps and invite friends Tongue

I am not pointing fingers. Anyways, to the original poster, please do not damange your hardware by doing something silly like trying to mine a high difficulty coin with your cpu, let alone with your phone. Please spend some time READING what is already written on this forum rather than making useless threads with silly questions.

You lacking something friend ,you need to learn what algorithm is ,just because your CPU can give you 41kh/s doesn't mean its for all aglo ,you can't get 41kh/s mining monero with CPU ,even better CPU with octa core CPU threads can only do 450-500hashrate mining monero not kilohash
I think similiar. It depends on mining method specific to that coin.
General rule is that phone mining < cpu mining < gpu mining < asic mining.
Asic mining is king, its tailored machine for specific task.

I think you should move this post to the mining section here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=14.0
So those with sufficient knowledge in mining will provide correct answers to your questions.

To move just click on the "move" button at the lower left corner of your screen.

Hello, I am a beginner in mining, so I have a few questions, first in CPU mining they are saying that it is not possible to mine with CPU but here is the web page:

https://mining-cryptocurrency.ru/mining-na-processore-cpu/?amp

here is they are saying that I7-920 has 41 kh/s , and when i calculate Monero coin on150 kh/s

https://www.coincalculators.io/coin/monero?Hashrate=150&HashFactor=Kh&Watt=350&ElectricityPrice=0.1&PoolFee=0&HardwareCost=0&LH=&Difficulty=24

there is huge money... so ??

and with the  mobile mining Galaxy S5 has 14h/s :
https://www.xda-developers.com/cryptocurrency-monero-ethereum-litecoin-bitcoin-mining-android-smartphones/

so is there enough 10 S5 mobile phone to mine Monero coin with above calculations? so where i am wrong?
