Hey everyone,

Not sure if I'm posting in the right section, so please forgive me if I'm not. I was looking for a CPU only altcoin that you are able to solo mine with relative ease. By relative ease I mean that you're able to actually mine a block without waiting for weeks.

Anyone have any recommendations? I've searched some in the past but it seems like most of the one's I've seen are from 2-3 years ago and are now dead....at least no one is actively posting on the altcoin's thread. Perhaps I was looking in the wrong direction.

Speaking of wrong direction, is this the section I should visit in order to see any new and upcoming cpu altcoins?

Thanks!

You can solo mine HODL coin; it is currently CPU-only and there is a built-in miner in the wallet. But a faster/more optimized miner will come out soon (again built-in).

So pretty much what you're saying is that there really isn't anything out there?

I'm a noob so sorry if this question is a silly one, but if you attach to an sha256 hash, would that make it possible to mine with an asic instead of only cpu?

On a side note, I did get into slimcoin. It's still alive but the wallet app for windows has a few bugs. It could definitely use some refreshed attention from devs... Just thought I'd throw that out there in case anyone is interested in taking a look at slimcoin. It's been pretty resilient so far.

you can mine XDN. you will find a block. but block reward is low and so is the price in btc. or have a look at these coins: http://cpucoinlist.com

but i think that cpu coins a controlled by botnets. or does anybody really have a lot of cpu power just for mining?

i would love if some parties would dev;

coin that;

rewards all nodes;

reward varies exponentially on active node count;

perhaps ++raises for most active nodes (longest up time);

attach to sha256 hash, throw them a dime for POW.  (POW algo doesn't matter ... qubit is just as good)

THUS;

CPU only require, hell even less than that, just an IP that is repeating open nodes ... aka ... hosting the config file.
