Thanks pontiacg5, that's a lot of good info. I held back asking, because as a noob, you hate your noob to show too much. At least, there's hope here!

Unfortunately mining is a competitive capitalistic game, so you have been squeezed out of just about every mining market with a budget like that.

If you just do it for fun I would look into a "off-lease PC," google it. See what you can find as far as processor power for around $80 bucks, you should be looking at complete systems only 2-3 years old. You'll have to do some searching to see if whatever you can buy is anywhere near strong enough to mine anything. Try and buy a off lease with a pci-e x16 slot too, no small form factor PCs.

Mine a bunch of cpu coins, then hope they grow in value enough, or play the market well enough, to afford a decent GPU (think $300 or so)

Bout the only thing I can think of, and it's not much. I've done crazier crap as a broke kid and somehow came out ahead.

I don't even know where to begin.
CPU Intel(R)Pentium(R) D CPU 2.80 GHz (I know, junk)

GPU is never recognized.
ATI Radeon X/350 X/550 X/1050 (Also junk?)

I never get to join into mining, or i CAN mine with the wallets with my old CPU, and it's never worth the electricity or trouble. I need advice. I'm not a computer builder. I feel sad when Doge's come out, or other coins come into play. I get to do the wonderful giveaways, but I want to participate myself in mining for them!

PLEASE if anyone has advice! I am not embarrassed to say, I'm an amputee(lost the ol leg in 09) that has a LOT of home time. I really have fun with all this, but want to know what a small budget can do for me. I have a whole 75 or so bucks to spend in a couple weeks, can that help me in some way? What should I purchase?
Hope this is the right place to post this, I'm still relatively new.
