I'm not so sure I am THAT good.  But the focus relies on two aspects.  The technological aspect, which most everyone here already knows.  The other is the human aspect.  This is the weakest part.  People seem to have these grandiose beliefs on par with their most recent favorite TV show when something like Gox happens.  These things often turn out to be very simple in nature, compounded by bad decisions and fate.

Let's just say I've got a lot of experience in dealing with cyber-crimes as an Investigator.

Yet you sent some random person money for BTC off craigslist without any type of escrow...seriously?

Sometimes you have to take some risk.  That's life.  At least it was "local", right?

If you responded to the following advertisement on Craigslist for Bitcoin at a below market value price let me know.  I did and didn't receive any bitcoins.  However, I was able to get a refund.  I won't go in to how I did it unless you were victimized as well.  The information I have is sufficient to gain criminal prosecution should it be warranted.  Please share this with your colleagues.

The ad is as follows:

ok let me guess, you paid with paypal, and did a chargeback right?

No chargeback here.  If you had issues from this ad I'll give you some information.  Otherwise, discussing the details publicly will only enhance future fraud efforts.  Let's just say I've got a lot of experience in dealing with cyber-crimes as an Investigator.
