I have to tip the balance and say my only XFX card in use currently is pretty crappy in terms of temps & noise.

Runs constantly 3-4c hotter than other brands in my rigs, and the noise makes up for at least 5 cards combined.

But it was cheap (5850, $95) so can't really complain.

HOLY *@(#@&#(*@#&(@*#! WHERE DID YOU GET THAT?

I an XFX 5830, recently bought a Sapphire 5830 off newegg when they were cheap. The XFX runs cooler, can handle a higher GPU clock, and actually lets me downclock my memory even lower than the Sapphire does. I don't know where this whole "XFX is crap" thing came from, but they make some decent hardware. My last few gaming cards have been from XFX, and they have all been great.

Same here, lol.

I purchased 3 * 5870 OC edition Gigabyte cards through Newegg, and 3*5870 XFX cards as well.

The xfx cards can run at 960/300mhz core/memory and spit out 410 mhash+ at ~75 celcius.

The OC edition gigabyte cards struggle to stay under 90 degrees celcius even at 880/300.

Anybody else notice this? Are the OC edition Gigabyte cards no good for mining?

I have 6 * gigabyte 5870s (non OC edition) that run great... 410 mhash at 80 celcius maximum. So confused :S
