I'd be fine switching wallets to something that works, but I have no idea how to go about that. Especially if I can't access my wallet to begin with. Am I just screwed if I can't get into my Bitcoin Core?

Not if you have a current backup of your wallet.dat. You can then import your keys to just about any other wallet then, although for some types you may have to use a tool such as pywallet to change the import format.

Another option is to simply downgrade to the last version of core that worked for you until the issues are resolved. Undecided

I updated my Bitcoin Core to the latest version in an attempt to fix issues I was having with unconfirmed transactions, and now it simply crashes on startup.

I checked the debug logs and I don't see any errors in them, it's as if they get cut off too suddenly. The way it crashes is a pretty standard windows appcrash. I use Windows 7.

Above are two examples of the logs of times I've tried to open it and it crashes.

Not sure what to do now. Yes I've tried reinstalling it and it doesn't change anything.

I'm not a Windows user but had the same happen with me with latest versions. I unfortunately had to delete my data directory and start over to get it to work. I am thankful core isn't my everyday wallet - I just use it for testing purposes. It seems to get buggier and buggier each release  Undecided
