Job description

IT SERVICE ASSET AND CONFIGURATION MANAGER. ITIL. OPPORTUNITY TO WORK ON AN EXCITING CHANGE PROGRAMME WITHIN A PRESTIGIOUS FINANCIAL SERVICES SECTOR COMPANY. This role is responsible for ensuring the aims of IT Service Asset and Configuration is met. Key Responsibilities: Implements the service asset management policy and standards Evaluates existing asset management systems and the design, implementation and management of new/improved systems for efficiency and effectiveness Agrees scope of the asset management processes, function, the items that are to be controlled, and the information that is to be recorded Develops asset management standards, asset management plans and procedures Ensures that the asset management methods and processes are properly approved and communicated to staff before being implemented Arranges recruitment and training of staff Manages the evaluation asset management tools Agrees assets to be uniquely identified with naming conventions; ensures that staff comply with identification standards for object types, environments, processes, life cycles, documentation, versions, formats, baselines, releases and templates Proposes/agrees interfaces with change management, problem management, network management, release management, computer operations, logistics, finance and administration functions Plans population of the asset DB; manages the asset DB, central libraries and tools; ensures regular housekeeping of the asset DB Provides reports, including management reports Configuration Management responsibilities include: Implements the configuration management policy and standards Evaluates existing configuration management systems Agrees scope of the configuration management processes, function, the items that are to be controlled, and the information that is to be recorded Develops configuration management standards, configuration management plans and procedures Ensures that changes to the configuration management methods and processes are properly approved and communicated Arranges recruitment and training of staff Manages the evaluation of configuration management Manages the configuration management plan, principles and processes and their implementation Agrees CIs to be uniquely identified with naming conventions Ensures that staff comply with identification standards Proposes/agrees interfaces with change management, problem management, network management, release management, computer operations, logistics, finance and administration functions Plans population of the CMS; manages CMS, central libraries, tools, common codes and data; ensures regular housekeeping of the CMS Provides reports, including management Skills/Experience: Has undertaken ITSACM role in an IT Service environment operating a virtualised shared it infrastructure (private cloud) The ability to set and create the right climate optimising results achieved through others by managing and/or influencing Can demonstrate experience of implementing ITSACM process into a FS regulated organisation Must have awareness and appreciation of the following key technologies: VMware vSphere v5.0 VMware Site Recovery Manager EMC Clariion or VNX with RecoverPoint 3 EMC Networker with Data Domain Citrix XenApp v4-6.5 Cisco Catalyst & Nexus Microsoft SQL Server Oracle 10,11 & 12 Redhat Enterprise Linux 6 Microsoft Windows Server 2008 - 2012 R2 Microsoft Exchange Remote Access technologies, ideally Cisco ASA, Citrix Netscaler Access Gateway, Microsoft Unified Access Gateway, Direct Access IP Address Management through Microsoft & Infoblox DHCP The candidate will have worked in a ITSAC Management role within a FS regulated organisation, being the point of escalation for all ITSAC Management information An experienced decision maker with ability to influence and negotiate both within and outside the department in order to achieve service offering objectives. Individual will demonstrate an instinctive ability to evaluate risks, priorities and business benefits, leveraging strong business experience/knowledge.
