News definitely affect crypto prices but there are strong support levels on bitcoin where the supporters are simply immune to any kind of bad news.

I mean you could say China banned btc and tomorrow USA bans it and tomorrow Japan, it will go down and down but will never ever be zero. Some people will just see it as an opportunity to buy more.

It's been like this pretty much since the beginning, but the most basic advise is always the same: "buy when everyone sells, sell when everyone buys". Altcoins are going through a terrible year but I am confident 2019 will be better, September could be the right moment to invest carefully in some coins.
But I don't think media are the only causes of this, actually a lot of the bitcoin price movement + altcoins can be explained by chart analysis, it's crystal clear to me that bitcoin price since March/April has been depending a lot on technical analysis.
