something completely different is with HYIP/Ponzi, there can be no confusion that the business is started with honourable intentions.
if we were to trivialize, You can't blame car manufacturers because their model was used in the bank robbery, but it is something quite different if they were to make a model, specifically intended for it.
Car manufacturers have an intention which is undoubtedly positive, though that might be used for bank robbery. But we can blame those who works for the model which intention is to robbery. In this case we cant blame anyone who is web designer/Developer or who works for graphics designer or content writer. But if they works for HYIP then they should be considered as scammer as the intention of HYIP is scamming.

Philosophical question about this.
Fine, we all know hyips are scams.
What about the people who design ICO / IEO etc. sites do they get a tag?
What about the people who design the sites for obvious scam casinos and such.

I think we have to tag them all or none.
Personally I have no issues tagging them all, but that's me. How do others feel.

Probably should have this discussion in meta, but I saw this post and figured it was worth a comment.

They all deserve a tag, High Yield Investment Programs are created to entice people to invest because of the very high returns and HYIP's will not succeed if they don't have promoters, HYIP monitors, HYIP designers, writers, and shills
they all combined their talents to create a project to scam people, ten years ago HYIP's are all over the internet, it's an industry that breeds scammers.

Well, it is very realistic for a programmer to be hired to code a website for ICO/IEO, casino or whatever. if part of it is just creating a website or application and he is not a part of the team, he cannot bear the responsibility there if any fraud happened.
But that is about legit business. ICO, IEO, casinos are legit as businesses and their legitimacy depends solely on the team behind them.

In this case I think tagging this account is more of a morality issue because the tag is supposed to mean this person is inherently untrustworthy, which may not actually be the case. As far as we know this person has a perfect professional track record, and has never scammed anyone.

A lot of people who joins HYIPs know what they are getting themselves into, and I don't see what good tagging this account would do other than punishing someone for their choice of employment.

Good catch OP, good thing that this was caught really early because if not, then probably they would've enticed some people to join that shenanigan and make more money for themselves.

This is kind of interesting because this person offers a service that creates HYIP-related websites (aka crypto ponzi schemes), and they're apparently quite good at it. Just picking a random example out of his website portfolio:

https://uhyips.com/hyip/bitex-inv-5619

That one was from 2014, so he's been doing this for a while.

It could be argued that this account deserves a red tag on the premise that all HYIPs are inherently scams, because they are. But from a trade risk perspective it seems like he does his work quite well and honestly.

At one point several years ago dooglus got in trouble for writing scripts for Ponzi schemes* but he is still one of the most respected members on the forum.

*If memory serves he was simply hired to fix a broken script, so its not quite as bad as what this guy does.
