Hiya. Have my BTC sitting in my exchange account. Have Electrum ready to go. I'm now completely paranoid about what to do next security-wise.

I've read the very good (and funny) post about paper wallets, have also read Electrum's own advice. However I'm on a Mac (OSX) not PC so I'm not sure how different it is. Also have no experience with Debian or Ubuntu. I want to download my BTC and bounce them straight into a paper wallet, then delete all evidence from my online computer. It's a savings account not everyday use.

Also, once my wallet is offline, can I leave it on a USB rather than offline ? How can I be sure it's completely off my computer?

Also how safe is BTC in an exchange account anyway? It's two password encrypted.

I must sound so clueless. I'm not a total eejit, promise - I think I know how to do it all but I want to be very, very sure so I thought I'd ask the experts  Grin
