As much as I like to see bitcoin being used exclusively on a island, I would prefer to use hard cash in a foreign country. There is little room for dispute and much easier to get a refund.

Of course, as mentioned in the video, the immigration officer might extort you for cash. If you don't bring any hard cash and you tell them about bitcoin, I wonder what their expression looks like.

Ambitious goals. I look forward to seeing if you have success.  How are you planning on getting merchants and exchanges on board with funds raised?

Dear Bitcoiners

Please let me introduce myself. I am Oscar Darmawan - CEO of Bitcoin.co.id -  Bitcoin Exchanger in Indonesia (www.bitcoin.co.id). Our bitcoin trading spot is quite liquid. We have about 5000 plus member and in average increase by 100 people daily. Our full service Bitcoin trading spot is launching since mid of February 2014. We are registered company under PT Bitcoin Indonesia under Indonesia's jurisdiction. Our office located in Jakarta - Capital of Indonesia.

Our Business Plan
We are currently already gaining some profit by running this Bitcoin Exchanger but we are looking to expand our Business in offline world and convert Bali into Bitcoin Island:
  • Setting Up Offline Exchanger and Office in Bali
  • Converting each and every merchant/shop in Bali to accept Bitcoin
  • Converting Majority of Money Changer in Bali to accept Bitcoin ( There are hundreds of Money Changer in bali)
  • To make use Bitcoin as transaction instrument not only as speculative instrument

By doing this , all tourists from all over the world can come to Bali by only bringing Bitcoin instead of fiat money. This solution may reduce risk of being targeted by pocket thief. Tourists also can come for holiday comfortably. This business plan required quite big funding but we believe this plan will also make good milestone for Bitcoin in general. This business plan will also boost our volume trading 3 - 10 times than now.

CROWD Funding
To achieve that target, we are currently doing fund raising. Therefore we are listing our company in CryptoStocks for hoping raising some funding:

We are hoping investor can help us actualize our plan. We will give our dividends in return in monthly basis. We also open for angel investors. Please contact us admin[at]bitcoin.co.id . Thank you in advance

About My Country

Indonesia is Southeast Asia's largest economy with 240 million people which cites its fast-growing economy (up 6.2% in 2012 and 5.78 in 2013) and favorable demographics. Over 60 per cent of the population is between 20-65, which gives the country a large bank of earners and not too many old people for workers to support.
Indonesia is one of the most promising tech markets in Asia. The survey reveals that Indonesia now has 74.6 million internet users, a 22 percent increase from last year’s 61.1 million. That number will pass 100 million in 2015. The survey that has been done by Markplus Insight also counts “netizen penetration”, wherein a netizen is defined as someone who spends at least three hours online per day. Indonesia now has 31.7 million of them this year, an increase from 24.2 million people last year.

Why Bali
Bali is ranked as one of the best tropical holiday spots in the world and visit by millions of foreign and local tourists yearly

Please help us to raise some funding to make this plan possible : https://cryptostocks.com/securities/120
