Hi BanksWorstFear,

Yes, we aren't getting the mainstream adoption we are looking for , but that is systematic with Bitcoin ecosystem as a whole. We hope to bring on some pretty exciting projects in the next few months. I hope you find the Bitcoin crowdfunding you are looking for and if you need any help with anything just let me know! Thanks.

edit: Rushwallet is pretty sweet!  Grin

We just got this project listed: https://bitcoinstarter.com/projects/1050

Quick question for bitcoinstarter, I attempted to use my google account sign into your site, after it was approved I sought to change the withdrawal address however your system would not permit me to change it without a "password"  how is that achieved given that I signed in with the google account?

please clarify.

I'll be adding a project soon.

Not that I know of, what's wrong with Bitstarter?

it is unpopular. It was never mainstream. A mainstream site like indiegogo or kickstarter adding bitcoin support would be big.

Other sites like crowdtilt gofundme, and more...all bigger than bitcoinstarter

VS

http://who.is/whois/https://www.tilt.com - rank 21,665

http://who.is/whois/http://www.gofundme.com - rank 1,253

http://who.is/whois/kickstarter.com - rank 729

http://who.is/whois/indiegogo.com - rank 1,724
One reason for this is because users of bitcoin tend to be more skeptical then most and tend to think that people asking for money is almost always a scam. I don't think that many people involved in bitcoin would believe that most of the campaigns on kickstarter or gofundme are anything other then a scam (in some ways they really are because the people receiving the money retain 100% ownership of their company, and the donators generally get very little in return)

I tend to agree with you.  Keep in mind, Bitcoin is really a novelty item right now ( still is ) where as fiat and fiat related Bitcoin Crowdfunding sites don't have that problem. People just put down their money on a project without thinking about it.  Eventually, Bitcoin will be just used like any other currency and it will be as easy as using any other currency. Its just a matter of time really.

I think you add on other complex technology like Swarm is and you narrow your audience down to techno geeks and the such or if that (If I had a guess it isn't legal either ) .  I mean its hard enough to explain to your average day Joe what Bitcoin is then you throw in stuff like counterparty blah, blah and you got yourself a real mess. Then again I'm bias! Tongue

people wasting their time and money. Crowdfunding needs transparency that doesnt apply to bitcoins. Any bitcoin based crowdfunding platform will fail.

I have always known bitcointstarter, but it looks that crowdfunding with bitcoin is not being successful

I think it's because really people use the crowdfunding platforms because it's a) easy to get money into them, and b) there is a certain amount of built in PR when using the established services. Like all of bitcoin, we are still looking for the "killer app". So far most people who do invest their bitcoin are looking to make MORE bitcoin out of their investment, and in a rather short amount of time. So that kind of limits the applications, for now.

yeah sucks that scammers are ruining btc for the honest individuals,  I know there is a site that does crowfunding but is not bitcoin related

This is true Zolace. In reality, everyone has to due their due diligence with crowdfunding project. Even RushWallet mentioned here goes directly to the project creator without any escrow ( like us) so you have def. trust the person.

Thats because bitcoin community doesn't support crowdfunding sites using bitcoin like bitcoinstarter, thats how we promote bitcoin vs fiat. Take it or leave it

I didn't see this post ^^ but basically this.

You would be hard to find any bitcoin site that is lower then any of those you mentioned. Of course, it isn't mainstream because Bitcoin isn't mainstream plus it doesn't help that people are choosing Fiat crowdfunding sites over Bitcoin related ones.

How os crowdfunding with BTC going these days? People in the BTC world are always so suspicious that they are getting scammed (and sometimes for a good reason)...
