I've just learned about unstoppable domains https://unstoppabledomains.com/ which is a pretty cool concept in my book. Instead of having a long key to share with people it can be as easy as a domain name ex: hellothere.zil

What are your thoughts on this concept? Will this make crypto less intimidating?

Hey man you can get more tips How to setup unstoppable domains -in this 2 minutes guide https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cWgt6GS_yDg

I do not understand why this take so much time to find out this solution.
It is more user friendly than address contains random number and letters and also it is more easier to abuse it. How many times we saw a malware in computers that changing copied addresses?

It's actually an idea that has many ways to be implemented wrongly and become a security risk.
The idea was implemented a couple of times in the past, but without a blockchain, instead it was a typical name server. That was an even bigger security risk.
And because of that, established wallets will not be too eager to implement it. And if you cannot use it in a wallet, ... it's no use.

This is actually my first time to hear of such a good concept. I must be living in my own cave, so to speak, to have miss such a good idea. This is another excellent way to propagate cryptocurrency instead of those boring and very long lines we can just deal with a domain which is more classy, easy, smart and more convenient. I am hoping that soon this can be accepted by the many and become more popular. This is like having your own website address.

Its a domain registrar, very interesting. But weren't this just like the concept of aliases that we do with bitshares and in wavesplatform?

If its really like a domain, it can be as easy to remember a website url which means, it corresponds to a certain IP address in the DNS. Thsi is what I thought but
what they said was that and I quote.

Are blockchain domains part of ICANN/ traditional DNS?
No. Blockchain domains are what’s called alternate roots. They are not part of the current DNS

It a nice and unique idea bit what about the cost and security, because i f you maintain the domain without having to make your wallet vonorable to hackers. But with my hard ware wallet once I can protect my private keys from others my wallet is secured and only need to pay fees in transactions.

it is not possible in my opinion, crypto addresses cannot do that, the system is not like creating a domain and then being hosted on the server.
There are millions of crypto addresses created and it's decentralized, nobody can change it to be shorter like a domain. Maybe the domain can, because there is a central set up, but not with crypto

I would imagine this would replace your public address so you would give it to close friends like you would an email address but you still have to own a private key that isn't as simple
Oh, if that is the idea or concept of the developer, I think it will really be a very good one, at least people will no longer make mistake of sending their token to a wrong address, this is another extra security tool for our wallet that the developer has introduced, I really wish to see how it works in the long run so I can also get my own domain.

The challenge now is that, it can only work for personal wallet address, what about addresses that is being given to us by exchanges for one to be able to use in depositing money to it, how will one get personal domain name for them, does it mean we have to buy this domain for every addresses we get? Still eager to know more though.

I think it will be a very great idea or tool for those that would be interested or lazy to do ordinary copy and paste. I have never found copying wallet addresses that difficult, because most wallet even provide tools that will make it easy for one to copy without having to highlight it to copy, which sometimes leads to omission of numbers, but with their direct copy tool, it will be impossible for one to copy wrong address or have any omission.

I have checked your site and you would have made it possible for people to be able to go on trial version first, because I can’t just purchase what I don’t have an idea of what it directly does yet.

Well it's a good thing that we now have address that are simple to understand but I don't really know how it's going to work, is this address for bitcoin or for a newly created Blockchain because if it's for bitcoin then I don't think it can work outside the jurisdiction of the wallet that added that feature since all wallet addresses created in the Blockchain itself are very long and can't be changes just like that until a consensus is made by the members of the community.

it is easier to have smooth address, but EOS and STEEM have already implemented that in wallet address, and it is easy to transact on the network with names that have sense instead of coding name

that's an old concept and ethereum has already implemented it and that called as ENS and you can find more through this link https://ens.domains/
It just like replacing our SHA address with a new one that already used an initial name to identify that.
You can now try to see some exchange sites that has already used ethereum ENS system and it's all working smoothly.
It looks very similar with the one that you have been talking about.

For now it seems to simply make it more complicated.
There's a discussion in Ivory Tower on this subject, but afaik it's restricted to Members+.

Basically the name is safeguarded by a blockchain and it's mapped to a Bitcoin wallet address. A distributed name server.
The problem is that it's not a proper DNS and only a certain wallet (Moonlet wallet) recognizes this kind of addresses, wallet I've never seen.

Although the solution is a bit more reliable than a centralized name server (solution which I've seen in the past working, but solution that can be easily used for bad), since it's a new coin, 51% attacks are possible. And the fact it only works with a wallet nobody heard of makes it unappealing. If they could convince Electrum dev to handle this kind of addresses, it could become interesting though.

I have a good feeling people are going to take really well to this project. Especially projects that make  their lives more simplified and cool

There is a reason that wallet addresses look that ugly they are just some encrypted information which you can use as a personal identifier. Now if you want to simplify things a bit you can create something called a Vanity Address which is basically having some text on started part of your address but changing the whole address into a memorizable word can make it harmful you are compromising your security in the process. but there is no harm in trying it out if you like.

I would like to see a simple solution that will happily adopted by people and that can bring revolutionary ease of using cryptos as payment, like each wallet should be the cellphone number of the owner to realize this concept their should be a wallet or an app that after verifying your number alots you the same wallet address as your mobile number this will be a massive compliance step if ever happens for crypto this will make payments as easy as texting from one number to another.

I have a problem to understand how it works. Maybe you can clarify here, i would appreciate it very much. Say I buy a ".zil" domain. I get to choose a cool name for my zil domain, and then I log in into your dashboard and associate my Bitcoin or Ethereum public key/addresses with my domain name. Right? So when someone sends some funds from a supported wallet, I get the funds on my associated addresses. In essence, the end effect is people are bypassing remembering unreadable strings of numbers and letters.  Is it so or am I missing something?

Well you reffer to have the address public show on a web address? Yes is possible but if is need a domain to host then this cost some money and maybe sometimes can't be accessed or can be somehow atacked and replaced by some hackers and lose coins when someone send to another address.
