It's natural for any promotion to aim shows with higher viewership to get the word out to a wider audience. Perhaps it's not only the NBA wherein crypto ads are appearing, but other events too. But right now NBA is the biggest thing that they can hitch a ride to for advertisements, so there's that.

Also, since a lot of games are in line for NBA, crypto gambling platforms will surely place their advertisements on these events. It's a no-brainer at all, and definitely a win-win situation for them no matter the cost.

I was watching some NBA highlights and in this video, I saw the "FTX" in the background and I was happy so I shared it here.

Out of curiosity, do you guys have an idea of what crypto projects are using NBA for advertising?
I know this entails big money, so projects who can afford to advertise in NBA are mostly a real deal project for sure.
Are you watching it for the first time? FTX sponsored the whole cricket world cup T20 the previous year and even have become official sponsor of ICC which is the international cricket council, I personally think FTX is now a global giant it's not just limited to crypto as is expanding it's advertisement in all the spheres of world. And sponsorships of these events is really expensive so FTX is spending a huge money on it's promotion.

Yeah, Crypto.com is the biggest, as they now have the rights to Staples center, now renamed to Crypto.com arena, worth $700 million.

So everyone involved with bitcoin and crypto are targeting NBA because it's one of the biggest sporting events. So don't be surprised if you see advertisement around NBA because this is the new era of promotion now.

And if I'm not mistaken, even online betting sites that accepts fiat and crypto is also doing some marketing around NBA.

To be honest, I personally have expected this to happen and I think this isn't just me because it's easily recognisable with commo sense. The only question people like me had back then was when it would happen. I'm glad that after all this time, mass adoption is really increasing and getting faster than ever before. Just so you know, NFTs are even being used in the music industry already and yes, on sports as well being collectibles and memorabilia. I expect more of such things to happen as time pass by. Thus is the golden time to collect and collect Bitcoins along with your favourite altcoins.

There were actually a lot of crypto ads in NBA nowadays.
The Staples Center of Los Angeles is now Crypto.com arena, and the American Airlines Arena in Miami is now FTX arena.
Also, the Philadelphia Sixers have crypto.com patches on their uniform.
So, I guess these are just the beginning, more and more crypto exchange, or crypto related business will compete is advertising from different sports industry.

It's becoming pretty common for every sport to have some sort of cryptocurrency advert in the background now. The UFC have it, the Premier League have it, and the NBA. The Premier League (which is football if your not familiar) actually has a couple of cryptocurrency sponsors. Some teams also have a Bitcoin related company as their primary sponsor.

Bitcoin in particular is starting to enter mainstream viewing, its only a matter of time that we see an increase in adoption from it. We've probably already seen the benefits, even if that's not increase in adoption specifically, what I'm getting at is just by having these advertisements on mainstream sports, it doesn't only legitimise these companies, but it also legitimises Bitcoin in the eyes of the average viewer.

Some teams have crypto sponsorship, like Sacramento Kings have an partnership with ANKR. It's only a positive way for crypto.
Here some interesting statistics about NBA fans interested in crypto : https://www.nielsen.com/us/en/insights/article/2021/slam-dunk-how-crypto-brands-are-making-a-splash-with-the-nba-and-fans/

An exchange targetting the audience of NBA to signup for crypto trading doesn't seem fitting. I could relate if it's related to sports betting actually. But sure why not. Somehow someone out there will probably google what FTX is while watching an NBA game.

Seriously, if Crypto.com tried this method at least to sponsor big sports events, I think they too can do it. Maybe they should also start sponsoring to display thier logo on NBA jersey.

This is good, not only on hardcore games but also the know association is promoting the crypto space. Who doesn't know NBA?, Even in the farthest land NBA is seen, remote areas too. I grew on undeveloped areas, only television is available but still manage to watch NBA games. One thing that NBA plant on me was the ads on the side benches of the player, promoting products, wonder what was that for. Now I am aware and knew, now this would also be viewable by common folks who lacks the means to surf the internet.

Crypto adoption getting more exciting and in every step of it is a good news in the making that will make cryptocurrency capture more audience, supporters and investors in the future. Crypto.com itself is already there making a home in the NBA and more things to come for us and crypto as well. More good news more adoption.

Kalou I think is currently an NFT project that handles the NBA for advertising.
It does cost a lot of money because it uses blockchain technology to allow users to buy
"moments" and these moments can be collected or sold on the secondary market in NBA Top Shot.

As playerpoker said we are in the path of using cryptocurrencies ads in sports and many other environments and sports, especially famous sports like football and basketball, just a few weeks ago we saw the news about Binance where it was used in the shirt of some famous football teams like FC Porto and it had a good effect because targeting FC Porto could make a good attract man attentions, while in some countries basketball is more popular and surly targeting it will make an even bigger effect for them.

It is normal, we are at the beginning of a path whose end is that having cryptocurrencies will be as normal as having a cell phone nowadays.

Out of curiosity, do you guys have an idea of what crypto projects are using NBA for advertising?

I've read about crypto sponsors in the NBA. Googling around I found a few:

NBA lands first cryptocurrency sponsorship with Coinbase.

76ers Become Second NBA Team to Ink Crypto Ad Patch Deal. (The first were the the Portland Trail Blazers)

Slam dunk: How crypto brands are making a splash with the NBA–and fans.

Perhaps you thought Bitcoin exchange has nothing to do with NBA isn't?

It seems to be just the other way around, that they consider the NBA an ideal place to advertise.

They want to reach more audience especially Average Joe who doesn't understand/haven't use Bitcoin yet, encourage to use FTX as the exchange. To be honest this is nothing new, few days ago someone create new thread crypto.com become the official sponsor of FIFA Qatar 2022. Perhaps you thought Bitcoin exchange has nothing to do with NBA isn't? To become sponsor your company don't need to have same sectors, as long as they accept it's allowed.
