ETH is centralized token, so it's possible for Vitalik Butterin to freeze the token, the thing is how you can reach and ask him to freeze it.

I wouldn't ask you how much your ETH worth, but if it's huge amount or higher than the cost to hire blockchain analysis, you should try it.

As Tornado Cash e.g. ETH mixer got sanctions by U.S., so it's high likely the scammer doesn't have any reliable mixer to hide his trace and make it easier to identify.

Oh well, it's really disheartening to hear this kind of news that another member of the community has been scammed and this seems to be a never ending battle from all of us. Worst, the stories that we here are like their whole life savings has been stolen or a good chunk of money. But sorry to informed you, I don't think that you can recover your money, you might have the blockchain analysis and everything is public, but it doesn't mean that you can catch them as they can hide their real identity from those victims.

Sorry for your loss OP, I have a doubt that you won't recover your lost fund.
First of all, cryptocurrency transactions are irreversible which means you can't revoke them once it's confirmed and transferred to other wallets.

There are no such agencies that can revoke your lost Ethereum, but you can try to track them and know who is behind this scam.  But of course, another cost to pay because they aren't free.  Chainalysis.com will help and solve this if you want to track them down but this won't have a guarantee or better to move on and learned from those mistakes.

It always has an advantage if you're knowledgeable enough.

it would be better if you told the details of the theft whether it was a hacker who took wallet access from you in a difficult way, or indeed your own negligence in opening the site turned out to be a scam.

this is a place to discuss, if you need services go to the services section of this forum, maybe you will get it there.

This would be definitely difficult. Hiring someone to retrieve your funds is indeed a good idea but be sure to know the necessities or limit yourself from frustrations. We are talking about money, therefore some people could take advantage of your problem by asking for some details then take benefit from what's unfortunate on your end. If I were you, I will be asking for help in person and also do a background check to whom you are talking to just to avoid making the problem worse.

I'm looking for an ethical hacker/crypto bounty hunter to help me recover my funds.

Can you guys help me?
Im sure that no one in this forum can help you. Being a hacker was not even an easy task. It's unlike when you are hacking a working platform but once it was going down and then it must be something that can't be done even by hacker too.

What site? you must also mention the site here. Im sure that you may find others who have the same experience like you.
if that was related with the garbage platforms and then why were you still using it before? Didn't you analyze the platform before try to send your money? That doesn't make sense.

First of all i loss all my life saving to and crypto scam. But the coin is ETH. It seems that the assets are still on the scam site but i'm
blocked due false reasons to withdraw it.
You have probably been fooled into giving money to unlock a bigger amount and you fell for the greed and sent them your money. This has nothing to do with Ethereum, but your own folly.

Sorry to hear that you was your life savings, but I hope you learnt your lesson and you should also post in the "Scam Accusations" section of this forum about this site so other users who are diligent enough to first check will get a headstart through search engines.

Ethereum is only the medium of transaction, not the scammer. Just like fiat money is the mode of transaction in real life scams. Does that mean fiat money is at fault here?

You will get scammed again, if you try this. Many scammers are going to appear as hacker or hunters and fool you again. I am sure you have already got some shady PMs on this forum after making this post, referring to the same.

Be careful in this sector if you are new to it.

What's that website that has scammed you? I don't think that there will be ways to return it back if you're asking for a help of a hacker. No bounty hunter can help you retrieve that fund back. But I'll tell you some incidents with these scam websites that when they're reported to the right government agencies, the owners were tracked down and refunded to the victims. That's happened in some scams in the US and the authorities there has managed to put the scam owners into jail and has forced them to give back the victims money.

OP, I'm sorry for your loss but I'm afraid things don't work that way. In the end, you want to respond to theft by stealing, that sounds bad in itself.
if something like this would be a solution so that we could recognize which hack is ethically good? anyone who gets angry or feels cheated by anyone just hires good hackers and justice is served.

I believe that you have been deceived, unfortunately, there are too many fake services that are only for that. the maximum you can do is to present the whole case and introduce us to the page/site where you lost money, and thus you can help prevent further fraudulent work of such a service.
unfortunately, that's the maximum you can do against them. You can look at everything a little more optimistically, at least you learned a valuable lesson.

I will tell you about the fact since you have not owned your coin and then you will not able to get it back. Im sorry for your lose but in this case anyone will not able to help you to get back your money. You shall accept your lose but i know that would be so hard for you.
That money maybe very useful for you but since you have sent it to the scammers and then none will able to help you in this case. I hope you can understand what i meant.

What is the name of this scam site you talking about? Can you share information on that? I am thinking this is a MLM website where you are promised that your Ethereum will be doubled, truth is you won't be able to recover your money, many have tried this before and they gave up since trying to recover will make you spend extra money again.

OP should be careful if someone will talk to him telling that he can recover those stolen funds. Those are definitely a scam and will just cause him to lose more if he deposit money to them. I also believe that those assets are not recoverable anymore since it happened on blockchain.

I feel bad for OP but this should be a lesson for him to not believe in some "too good to be true" investment schemes. Don't ever attempt also to put your life savings in cryptocurrencies as they are very volatile.

well, maybe you should provide complete information such as, the site where you invest, the wallet address of the person who stole your assets, the amount of assets you lost, social media or telegram from where you invested. maybe some people here can help you identify the culprit. other than that, I think it is very difficult to return the assets you own, especially if the assets you own have been transferred to another exchange, or have been exchanged. That's why more information is needed from you.

Its fine to hire someone to recovered your stolen funds.  But the chances to retrieve it is quite small especially if thr fault is on you ans it get stolen via yout wallet due to exposed private key or they simply get the dund through malicious fund.

Its quite often that people get hacked due to these reasons and very rare to get their asset back.  What you can do is learn from this experience,  but there is no harm on trying to get it back and maybe the funds is huge then even me I will try all my best.  Bte how or what happened on your funds
Can you elaborate how it got stolen?

Well how can we help you if you didn't even mentioned the site? I guess it is a crypto exchange? If yes, then perhaps we can get into the details as whether it is really a scam site or just holding your funds for some other reasons. Did you read the TOS on why they are holding your funds and can't withdraw?

I don't think you can find ethical hacker to 'get back what is yours'.  Sorry to break the bubble for you, but there are slim chance that you can get your funds back, to be honest.

You shall provide all of details about what kind of site. Im not sure if there would be someone who can help you in this case since you are not even holding your crypto that means if your crypto is not yours for now but it has owned by scammers.
Can you tell what site it is? that will be very help full to tag that site as a scam site or you can also open scam accusations against that site in another thread.
Maybe that site has official announcement thread in here.

I'm looking for an ethical hacker/crypto bounty hunter to help me recover my funds.

Please inform the scam site, so others would be aware of the site.

ETH transaction is settled, so if your funds already move inside the blockchain, the chance to recover it is near zero. In this case, asking for others to help is the last thing you should do. You should have reported it first to your local police station or act according to your local regulation, if the incident information get through, there is a chance the scammed ETH address is being flagged, assuming cryptocurrency theft/scam is being handled by your own country.

After all, I bet there isn't much hope, you better learn why you got scammed in the first place.
