YouTuber and social media influencer Logan Paul is set to refund certain disgruntled investors of his once ambitious CryptoZoo nonfungible token (NFT) game — a year after he promised NFT buyers recourse.
Well being sued is tragic and surely he will definitely do something on the part he messed up. He dont want to be labeled as scammers so clearly he will patch this thing for good or else maybe his career will go to an end he dont wanna happened. Most people could say he is just using his fame but if he really wanna stay with the game then better to do what is right.
It may seem like he is trying to do the right thing but in the bigger picture, he is actually trying to save himself and try to fool around the people with promises again. If he want to make things right then he could accept his mistake and face the consequences but he damn really care about his fame and influence that is why he is trying the other ways around.
I think he is a wise man that wouldn't want to see himself get sue multiple times because their are people that had been looking for ways to get him and make him pay for his decisions. He is try hard now to impress his followers and users so that they would not look like they have been scammed for no reason. He already have plans to buyback the NFTs that worth millions from the users who are not satisfied with the outcome of their investment.

For some, maybe they think getting something is better than not getting anything at all. But for me, I won't accept this and rather see him going into jail. That's more worth it. This also prevents him from doing the same tactics in the future and can scare those people who will attempt on doing the same thing.

We shouldn't feel bad about those people who got victimized here because it was all their fault anyway. This is what we can get when we are like a zombie following our idols. We think everything that they post or promote are good. There are still influencers who can start good but money changes them later on. This is what they say that money is the root of all evil.

Well I agree with you there. I d not think it is fair and he should be going to jail. But that is not going to happen I dont think so now it is good for his fans that got scammed to get their funds back.
We must hope this young man learned his lesson. And will not use his 'crypto influencer' statuses to do it again.
Doubtful, it is very rare for a person with such a high image about themselves to learn anything until they suffer the negative consequences that come from making a big mistake.

And since he is doing what he can precisely to avoid it then what he will learn is that he can do things that will put other people in jail and get away with it, so if anything I expect for him to make many more mistakes like this and only stop once the authorities think it is enough and go after him.

Yes I do know this it is so doubtful a powerful man like that will go to jail. And I do think this influencer is going to come back to being a crypto influencer.

There is just so much money these people can make doing it. He can pay back his fans that got scammed but make a new project and they will buy it again from him.

I think Logan Paul plan to "buy back" the CryptoZoo NFTs looks like he is trying to escape trouble instead of really trying to make things right. He wants to spend $2.3 million to buy back the NFTs at the same price they were sold for. This way he can avoid getting into legal trouble and pay low money than if he were sued. It also seems suspicious that he wants people to give up any claims they have against him now or in the future.
Logan Paul said he would give money back to the people who bought the CryptoZoo NFTs but now it looks like he wants to pay less money. This makes people wonder if he is really being honest and trustworthy in keeping his word.  Grin

Well I do think it is a nice thing of him to do for these people. But we must remember he is only doing this because he was under so much pressure from his fans that got scammed.

I do feel bad for those people. But we also have to remember we can not listen to a 'crypto influencer' just because he is famous. Those are the types of people we think we can trust but alot of times they do not know it is all part of a big scam.

My first thought was that the offer is already a good deal but it's only for those base NFTs. I think he and his legal team should reconsider adding those hybrid NFTs to sway the others to retract the class action lawsuit filed against him. Maybe raise it to $5M from $2.3M. He claims he also lost money from this venture but he'll probably lose more if the case pushes through. He still has clout and brand so he could recover that money.

he was part of the team, it must be a lie to claim he also lost money. this is kind of playing victim so the real victim will sympathize.

the investigation of Coffeezilla was more detailed regarding logan scamming its investor, he will not getaway with this since the victims are very much determined to pursue the lawsuit. this attempt to make them sign a waiver is another kind of attempt.

this is exactly what happened in my country, where there was an artist here offering nfts to the public and promising that they would get passive income in the form of his tokens by just holding the nfts. some time after the offer, many people started investing in these nfts and got their rewards in the form of tokens which they could hold or exchange on exchanges.

but after several months, reward payments to holders began to decline, they reasoned that the performance of their tokens in the crypto market was not good, so the payments were reduced. but the payments continued to decrease until finally the holders didn't get any rewards at all. and after that, the nfts and tokens finally died, and many people asked for an explanation from the artist and his management regarding this case but so far there has been no news, even though the artist is still performing in many places.

so the conclusion of this story is don't trust too much in nfts or tokens from artists or influencers, because these tokens are prone to speculation, manipulation, and die very quickly because they have no economy.

For those out of the loop, ya'll should look up Cofeezillas video about his scam. Pretty great video that summarizes what happened and what the actual hell Logan did as an answer to people in relation to his "refunds". And at that, I'm still rather dumbfounded how there's still people who defend him, that he at least "refunded" people which is, btw, not even a complete refund and asks for everyone, and literally everyone, who filed a lawsuit to him which btw, includes even those who may not receive a refund, to drop it.

Oh, and this only includes the NFT's iirc. This does not include refunds with relation to the cryptozoo token afaik? Yeah, people should continue the lawsuit and get what they deserve.

He is smart indeed and he uses his influence to fool innocent people. They somehow realized but it was too late already. Well, we usually learn something after committing mistakes.

He could pay the price of his wrongdoing but the question is how many years to wait for this person to be prosecuted? In the world of crypto, that was easy to scam and get accused but the penalty is too long to come. That is why many people keep on scamming especially in social media because they are aware that they never easily get to prison even if they are found guilty.

I'm pretty sure those Logan Paul fans will just look at him like a God again and will praise him for his doings, but many don't know that this is just a small portion of how much money many investors lost by investing in his project.

Will this change how the community sees him? Hell no. Will the investors invest in the project again just in case it goes live again? Hell no. The amount of money that most lost is just way more than the amount of money he promised to refund. I just love the fact that he said also that if they accept the payment, they can't make any claims against him anymore.

I didn't watch Coffezilla's comment regarding this move by Paul, but after posting this, I might watch it because he followed this project, and he posted videos about it as well. His videos is full of information with regards to scams so maybe watch him as well. Not an advertisement. Tongue

Once a man, twice a child!
The main idea of this article is that you should not listen to YouTube bloggers with a large number of subscribers.
This will be a hard one to avoid because many people believe that those YouTubers with the numbers know what they're doing. That's an irony like you just pointed out that the numbers don't validate anything.

He was all into the hype and spoke more than what he should have.
His loud "mouthedness" reminds me of late John McAfee. I think it's a common thing with media influencers to talk too much, and most times; unnecessarily. I guess they believe talking gets them the attention and clicks.

It's also a moral for all the youtubers and viewers that they should be careful about financial advice and promotions.

Influencers or celebrities do not really care whether what they are promoting actually works or would benefit their viewers as long as they gain profit from it

This is why as consumers of media, we should really be careful of what kind of information or idea we allow to enter our space and pick those that are really worthy to follow even if you idolize some celebrities or influencers it is still important that you do not miss your own opinion do your own research and decide on your own

When information is spread among so many people, it means the hamsters are being driven into a trap. Millions of users who subscribe to YouTube bloggers do not earn money in this market. But there are plenty of idiots in this market for another 100 years to come.
All these YouTube and bloggers are doing these things to sell themselves and their channels to attract more people to their blogs so that they would have population. All these online influencers are not doing well to develop the cryptocurrency ecosystem space but they are selfish though not all but the scammers are more than the good ones. This is bullshit. As zasad@ said, 365 days of lies are gone and we are about to start or hear another lies.

Another example of failed influencer project, people should already realized that they shouldn't listen to influencer more over buying their product and project. And looking from many point of view this is still rug-pull, $2.3 Million USD is just small number compared to the amount of money spent by the investors on the project, not to mention that this buyback is only for the NFT they won't buyback the CryptoZoo token, and I think most of the NFT holder also hold the Token, they shouldn't do the buyback if it waive their right to sue Logan.

is there anyone signing his condition that if he refunds those investors, they should also stop the lawsuit?
according to the news, he is blaming the developer of the game which he is not part of the scam. and so he is claiming to be the hero in refunding the supporters. nice twist.

the word is out though. so its gonna be hard for him to just clean his shit already and it took him years before offering this refund.

Influencers everywhere utilizes their title, because they have great influences on their followers and these adorers will do anything that their idol tells them without thinking about repercussions. People that are ignorant always follows what blogger that they follow tells them, it's ok to listen to a renowned influencer like Paul Logan, but they should carry out a proper research before they buy into whatever this influencers tells them on YouTube. This is to avoid unnecessary lawsuits that at the end of the day, the influencer lawyers will proof their clients disclaimers.

I don't think that we'll be able to make him pay. he's got a huge audience that doesn't know about that or doesn't care. And I'm pretty sure he'll be able to not get caught with that.

The only people care about that NFT refund is those who got affected by the downside of the NFT price. I am not saying that he should not do the buy back initiative because he must have promised his audience about this and they have the full right to take legal action if he doesn't want to compromise his promises. But NFT investors should also keep in mind when investing in a project is that a influential person is behind a project that doesn't mean it can only generate profits.

There are so many things we can learn here and I am happy that if he did not buy back his NFT from people who bought it long ago, it might ended in court and that is what he would have to avoid to prevent unnecessary drama. NFT do quickly depreciate with time and many NFT project I have worked for are not even in market till now. The non tangible market quickly lose it value with time and most time it does not take too long. We need to be very careful when buying non tangible tokens.

But why should anyone care about what an influencer has to say about a particular topic? They add nothing to the conversation except awareness, and that is even debatable since if the topic was controversial enough then people already knew about the topic anyway, and once you understand this it is not surprising that people instead of listening to money managers and other experts are now listening to anyone that is popular on youtube and they are taking dumb decisions because of it.

He is more unique in this case because most of the influencers advertise scams by getting paid but he created his own to make money but it didn't go well as planned and also he is at risk of getting sued which is why he doesn't want to take the risks and try to end everything outside of court.

Evolution led us to do everything on our own but people start doing without knowing everything leads to the problems.

The stupid people are so stubborn about this point, if someone famous tells something then the people will just nod their heads no matter what they say.
Expertise has been replaced with popularity in the minds of many people, just take a look at any debate or controversy, and the ones you will hear the most about are not the experts on those fields but celebrities and influencers which are vocal about it.

That is what he is obviously trying to do. Those that are done with this shit will no care agree and take the away money so they will no longer have any involved with his nft. Looks like a smart idea to just go away with the money but those that are pissed off with him and this project will definitely continue and won't care about the money, he is going to pay with. As long as the suing continues, that is what they are up to for the jutice to what he has done to them.

It seems that some people are starting to smell the excitement of the market and are starting to return to manipulation. I don't know this character, but some alleged social media influencers organize calls for products in the crypto space Smiley to attract capital, ensuring that such a move is a scam, the promises and hypes supposed potential trends in this space. If we could understand some of the ways low-quality projects and people who pretend to be market research experts work, many people would never pay attention and sometimes just see those people as clowns in space.

Anyway, the market is starting to make notable moves. I'm not sure everything will happen quickly, but according to speculation, by the end of this year 2024, we will have a lot less doubt. And also sincerely be wary of evil people who take advantage of ignorance to arouse the greed of newcomers.
